May 28th 2009 3:04PM Sure. Until banks like B of A start playing nasty tricks like charging overdraft fees on PENDING charges--not even cleared charges--@ $35/pop. B of A recently charged me $820 in overdraft charges because I was naive enough to think that I had 24 hours for an out-of-state check to clear and that they would actually post a direct deposit before bouncing the check, plus many debit charges for about $4 each on top of it. If that weren't quite enough income for them, they then proceeded to make sure I was overdrawn every day because of their overdraft fees ($200-$300/DAY), and charged me overdraft fees on their overdraft fees. As well as charging them on pending debit transactions, which was extremely unfair and probably illegal.
If I hadn't had a very kind friend send me a whole lot of cash, my entire business would have failed and I would have been living on the streets. Banks and their greed are out of control and desperately need to be regulated. Let's hope the HR bill before congress is passed so that the recently laid off, trying-to-be-responsible people they victimize can catch a "break."
More Smelly Hotels {Luxist}
Jun 2nd 2006 3:18PM There's nothing I hate more than walking into a hotel lobby and being slimed with some heavy, ugly scent. And I'm also very allergic to perfumes, so having a noticeable fragrance in my room would rule out my staying there. If a room is clean, no extra scent should be needed. I wish hotel management would do a little research into the chemistry of perfumes and how negatively they affect our health. It's really pretty frightening.
