Oscar de la Renta Coyote Boots {Luxist}
Feb 9th 2009 10:15PM I once saw a tv show of how they get the fur from the animals. It was a tv show about burlington coat factory selling coats with dog fur on the collars. Well this is going to be pretty straigt forward so if you are queezy please dont read the rest of this post.
They put a leash on the dog (a german shepard) and the dog though it was going for a walk or something, since his tail was wagging. Well, they tied the least to a post and lifted the dogs rear leg and started de-skinning him right there while he was still alive. Now doesnt that make you want to rush right out and buy something made of fun? Does it matter if it is a dog, mink or coyote? It would take a special person to have that job of de-skinning animals for someones idea of luxury!
So think about that the next time you buy something with fur on it.
Galley Gossip: A question about moving from coach to first class when there are open seats {Gadling}
Nov 17th 2008 11:22PM ok, lets simplify this. I used to be a die-hard Delta fan. Since I live in Atlanta you almost have to be! I had always wondered what was the secret to being up-graded to first class. I had even asked a few flight attendant friends while getting a "there is no secret" response. Well for a couple of years I strived hard to aquire the "Medallion" status for Delta. That requires flying 25,000 miles in one year. That is quit a ways to fly. I figured that when my new "Silver Medallion" luggage taps and card finally came in the mail that I would be some kind of "elite" passenger and I would always sit in first class.
So I attached my "elite" passenger luggage tags to my fake Louis Vuitton and headed to the airport. I had already called several time trying to get put on the up-grade list, but the answer I always receive was "you are on a non-upgradeable fare." Wasn't that just a pisser? When booking my tickets I always look at the different fare class costs for each ticket, but when you can purchase a ticket from say; Atlanta to Miami for $150 bucks for the lowest fare class and the next highest (upgradable) fare is $300 bucks (only for a "chance" that you might get upgraded) doesnt make sense to me. So after working so hard to obtain that "elite" status I finally just gave up and now I book on whatever airline is the cheapest despite Delta. Of the two years that worked so hard to earn that status I was never upgraded one time. The only perk was I was able to board the plane before the rest of the coach class. Whoo Hoo!!!
