Vote In Our Father's Day Poll {ParentDish}
Jun 16th 2009 8:49AM Hugh Laurie, because he doesn't make his or their private life public, stays in contact with them daily even though he is working in another country, and conducts himself in public so as not to be an embarassment to them. All that, as well as to millions of women around the world, he is the sexiest man on TV, makes him the best on Father's Day.
Historic California Hotel Closing Monday {Luxist}
Mar 7th 2009 11:44AM What a wonderful hotel! How wonderful it would be if Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) were to buy it! His lifelong ambition is to play piano in a hotel lounge, and he repeatedly states that is what he wants to do when he retires from acting. Of course, if he were ever there before retiring, it would be continually rented by wild, crazy, adoring women, but that should be a good thing, making it possible for him to recoup his investment quite rapidly! And if he were to actually play piano in the lounge, a high fence with a gate around the property would have to be erected, and quite a few large guards, perhaps some of the boxers he trains with, would be required to beat off all the women storming the gate! Please! Can't someone contact him about this property?
BBB warns of acai berry weight-loss scam {WalletPop}
Jan 11th 2009 10:27PM This company requires that you call them to return the unused portion to stop their charge for what they have sent and to prevent future items from being shipped, but THEY ALWAYS PUT YOU ON HOLD AND THEN NEVER ANSWER! After many emails to Mastercard, they finally decided that if I could not produce an order form with the return instructions shown, they had to refuse my request for credit because the company did not provide sufficient telephone lines for may order to be stopped, and because it was a phone order, I had not printed order. I guess all those charges through this company were so lucrative, Mastercard could not help a customer of many years, but now I refuse to use that card.
Looking for Comfortable Shoes? {AOL Hot Searches}
Mar 1st 2008 10:59AM After several foot surgeries and wearing heavy, arch supporting shoes, I saw a woman trying on an inexpensive shoe in a box store and telling her friend it was the most comfortable shoe she had ever had on her feet. Even though the shoe was almost totally open on the heel, I found they had it in my size and slipped into it and have worn them ever since. It is leather, seanlessly finished on the inside, with built-up arch support, and even though it is heel-less, the shoe comes up high enough on the foot so that it does not flop when walking, and has a soft but supportive inner sole that pads the ball of the foot. But best of all, at least to an ancient person like myself, it is LIGHTWEIGHT! All the shoes that have a thick outer sole, hard arch supports and enclosed heels were so heavy that in addition to having feet that hurt, I was exhausted from lifting those heavy shoes, but couldn't keep flipflops on even around the house. The first ones I bought were plain sandals with a the front a single piece of leather with elastic connecting it to the sole, the next pair were enclosed and looked like a loafer until you saw the open back, then they made and I bought a totally enclosed shoe with only a center seam that has all the inner features of the open shoes. They may not be right for people who have serious foot problems that require that the foot be firmly encased to keep the bones in place, but for people who need comfort on the ball of the foot and no seams rubbing on the top of the foot, and are so old, as I am, that they can't carry a heavy shoe around all day, they should give them a try. They are inexpensive, usually $22.95, and because I still work in the yard and ruin shoes, I know these can be rinsed off, dried in the sun, and still feel great. They are labeled Earth, written over Spirit, and I must mention that they are made in the United States.
Oprah is not the most popular person on television {AOL TV}
Feb 3rd 2008 2:18PM Hugh Laurie is on the list because in addition to being popular as Dr. House, he has contributed financially to many US causes, i.e., victims of Katrina (before he was wellknown as Dr. House), Red Heart Ball, Save the Children, and several I can't remember, plays in the Band from TV that donates all proceeds to charitables causes, appears at fundraisers for a variety of causes, and speaks humbly of being blessed with his success, and conducts himself as one would expect the man Life magazine honored in 2006 as the most talented, versatile performer of all time, instead of leading the typical lifestyle of those in the entertainment field today. Such as drinking, drugging, and denigrating moral values that would reflect not only on himself, but his wife and children. That in itself is worthy of honor.
Who would you like to sit with on a plane? {Gadling}
Nov 2nd 2007 10:17AM Without a doubt! HUGH LAURIE! He is such a private person that he probably would not say a word, which would be fine with me, as I would just enjoy looking at him during the flight. He is absolutely the most talented, handsome actor I have ever seen perform on TV, and while I love his performance as Dr. House, and love to hear him speak in either English or American, he could sit silently as Dr. House, and I would continue to watch for the full hour!

House: No Reason (finale) {AOL TV}
May 31st 2006 11:51AM This episode confirms that Hugh Laurie is presently the greatest, talented actor on TV, and definitely should receive the Emmy he deserved last year and didn't receive. Your review was also terrific! The episode, spellbinding. Thank you so much.
