Tara Reid has my shirt! {Stylelist (Main)}
Jun 19th 2007 9:23PM Ever since her ridiculous show "Taradise" showcased what a tanked-out skanky ho she was, a comeback is unlikely. I feel dirty just catching glimpses of her on television. Ew.
Dress to look taller {Stylelist (Main)}
Jun 15th 2007 5:10PM I am 5'10" tall in stocking feet. I love being tall! However, I've never made the assumption that everyone wants to be tall, or look tall. Height has little to do with how people perceive you. Some of the most intimidating women I've ever met are tiny. It's all about attitude and confidence.
I've modeled in the past, and I daresay I can look quite striking when I want to be. My style is the simpler the better. To touch on what Rose is saying, if you spend a bit of extra money on tailoring your clothing, it makes all the difference. Spending a bit extra on finely crafted pieces and accessories can also have a tremendous impact. Go for natural fabrics like silks, cotton, and rayon. Cotton/poly blend should be outlawed. You don't need a lot of fanfare and flashy clothes to look sensational.
Lastly, one shouldn't assume everyone wants to look tall. Some women, like people here have stated, enjoy their smaller stature just as much as I enjoy my height. Sometimes, I envy the fact that smaller women can pull off looks and wear certain styles of clothing that would look silly on me.
I think the original author's point was that the "long & lean" look is in, and how shorter people can achieve this. I don't think he meant "all short people are dumpy and need to look taller".

Jun 15th 2007 2:53PM OK, kids, let's just settle down a bit and focus on the positive.
Megan- the article was written by a man, and the information contained within can apply to both sexes. Where does it say the article was written for women only?
Judith- Losing a bit of weight would be a good start. but it sounds like you're already on track with this. Also, try pants with pinstripes, or a vertically colorblocked top or jacket with the darkest colors closest to the sides. Another look might be a skinny pant with a long tunic with a cropped jacket over. It's hard to give advice without seeing what you look like.

Aug 26th 2006 10:40PM Ilike the waterproofed leather, and the fact that it comes in pink- my signature color. Though the black is pretty sexy too ;-) I would buy it.... if I had little ones/

Aug 26th 2006 10:38PM Chewy Vuitton- I love it! Pets are family members too, so why not treat them to a little luxury once in a while?
Goldenbleu Sophie, Handbag of the Day {Luxist}
Aug 26th 2006 10:32PM This is much, much too bulky. A day at a sporting event where Mom can stash water bottles, sunscreen, wallets, cameras, hats, or any other junk the kids want her to hold for them- yes, this is conceivable.
But a dressy event? Out of the question. The bag would completely dominate whatever I was wearing. Evening bags should be small and sleek. All a girl needs on a night out is a purse big enough to carry ID, a credit card, lipstick, face powder, a spare tampon, and cab fare in case of emergency. That's it. Not this big, floppy thing.
Edible estates: say goodbye to lawns {Slashfood}
Jul 22nd 2006 3:05PM While this is a good idea in theory, it would never work in most suburban or urban areas. The last thing I want to do is have a 24-hour free public salad bar. There are way too many people out there who are ignorant with a false sense of entitlement, and who would happily rob a front-yard garden blind when no one's looking. Grow your food in your back yard.
Morning luxuries, what are yours? {ParentDish}
Jul 16th 2006 1:33PM I like to eat breakfast outside on the patio early in the morning and listen the birds chirping. Sometimes, I'll have a quick swim in the pool, or hot tub. Often followed up by some good morning lovin. Start the day off with a bang, pun intended ;-)
