Chevy Volt's first customers will be 15-person Customer Advisory Board {Autoblog}
Sep 29th 2010 9:17AM Yes, it will be nice to get the opinions of 15 die-hard greenies, and assuming they all like it, will improve the Volt's "green cred". I suppose that will help sell it to people determined to put the environment first (but not first if it means public trans and a bike!) I'll be way more interested to see what normal people think of it after 3 months. Give it to 15 random middle-class people and THEN I'll care what they think.

Sep 28th 2010 11:07AM Not sure I'm digging all that chicken wire mesh in the nose, but I guess that's needed to keep leaves, bugs and small children from clogging the radiators. Everything else looks promising.
The Five Best Restaurants in the U.S. {Luxist}
Sep 22nd 2010 1:45PM Agreed. Trotter's is still easily in the top 25, but it's widely known that his place has (relatively) slipped in recent years. Most true Chicago foodies, who know by actually eating at places and don't just pick the most famous name, would pick a handful of other places before Trotters.

Sep 21st 2010 4:57PM I was walking down Wacker that morning, and I could hear this..."noise"...coming from around the corner. We get quite a few supercars along Wacker and LaSalle, but this was like Godzilla riding in on a B1 bomber. The noise echoing between the buildings was unreal. I saw the cabbie light on top of the car, and almost waved him down, but 1) figured he wouldn't actually pick anyone up, and 2) didn't think it would actually be Mr. Speed driving. Stupid me!
And all I could think about the rest of the day was how cool it would be to run a NASCAR/F1 race through the Loop.

Was a Ferrari 599 Roadster present at Pebble? {Autoblog}
Aug 31st 2010 4:26PM Pics of the tent, but none of the car. Some specifics from ferrarichat: "The front end of the car is 599 convertible specific, looks great, it will be equipped with the GTO engine with the single clutch F1 system. Definitely the new retractable top raised some eyebrows, according to them it would take only a few seconds to put in on and off, but it took two of them one each side of the car to place it back on. Good news is convertible will weigh exactly same as a GTB. There are three new convertible specific colors; a new Red, a Navy and Black, all have some sort of sheen in them."
And: "The car was the only one in existence and not a runner. GTO engine and *perhaps* the same underpinnings. Soft top sides match aluminium trim and it looks very good with the top on (and fantastic with it off!). There is space for the folded top in the elongated trunk...they took out the parcel shelf behind the seats and added that space to the trunk. Top is rated to 75 MPH as the car is intended as a roadster. Nifty slide in window for between the roll hoops..but none of this is for sure as the show car was *not* final. "
