Creepy and beautiful cemeteries around the world {Gadling}
Jun 20th 2011 5:45PM Hattie, do you mean Mount Hope in Rochester? I live in the area and have toured the grounds several times. Bob Marcotte wrote a book about Mt. Hope a few years ago. Can't remember the title but you should be able to find it on the internet.
Creepy and beautiful cemeteries around the world {Gadling}
Jun 20th 2011 5:24PM Check out www.findagrave.com. I discovered the site while doing research on a cemetery my family lived near when I was a kid. My two older brothers used to tease me that the old schoolhouse (now used by a local Cub Scout Troop) next to the graveyard was haunted. The joke was on THEM because it really IS haunted. Shortly after the schoolhouse closed for good (the town and the Board of Education built a much larger school inside the villiage limits), the last woman to teach there hung herself in the attic and is buried less than 20 feet from the building! We used to see a shadow crossing in front of the attic window and my grandmother, whose grandfather helped build the schoolhouse, said people have seen the woman's ghostly form wandering around the outside of the building. According to the town historian, the woman's first name was Emily, but there is no record of her last name. I found her grave and it looks like someone used a chisel to remove part of the inscription from her tombstone. Even weirder, the place where she is buried is just OUTSIDE the cemetery boundary. There used to be a fence surrounding the property, but it was taken down during World War 2,

Apr 28th 2011 4:34PM Been to Bodie a few times. The place is even CREEPIER after dark. Had the strangest feeling I was being watched. My boyfried at the time, who went with me, said he felt the same way, but he doesn't "believe in ghosts". Well, I DO, and have even seen more than a few.
There is a game called "Ghost Town Mysteries" that uses Bodie as the setting. I have played it and the graphics are AMAZING!!
Rare Tintype of Billy The Kid To Go Up For Sale {Luxist}
Feb 19th 2011 9:13AM Tintypes are generally "mirror images". That's why the picture looks "flipped". I've read so many conflicting stories about Billy the Kid that I don't know WHAT to believe. Only Billy himself knows the truth and he ain't coming back, so..............
The Worst Burgers in America {Slashfood}
Feb 19th 2011 9:03AM I LOVE Ruby Tuesday's burgers but usually have to send them back to be cooked a little more. I like my burgers and steaks rare, but the last burger I got there was almost completely RAW! Also, who ever said burgers are SUPPOSED to be healthy?? Not me! I have recipes to MAKE several chain store burgers. Anyone wants them, drop me a line!
Pasta Boat Review: Forget the Pot; Use the Boat {WalletPop}
Jan 10th 2011 8:35AM I received one as a gift and, honestly, I wasn't impressed. Sounds like a good deal at $10, but I would rather spend more to get a good, sturdy, metal pot. I use mostly cast iron cookware inherited from my grandmother. Works great and my husband (who is from the South) loves cornbread done that way.
The Truth About...Sodium Lauryl Sulfate {MyDaily}
Jan 10th 2011 8:26AM SO glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this!! Personally, I MUCH prefer the spam that comes in a can.
I went through some of my shampoo bottles after reading this story and couldn't BELIEVE some of the junk listed in the ingredients!! I don't even know what HALF of those things are! Scary
Scooping Ice Cream Now Considered a Potential Job Hazard {AOL Jobs}
Nov 18th 2010 9:07AM It's NOT BS, Lisa. I worked at an ice cream parlor/deli and ended up with carpal tunnel syndrome from all the repetitive motion. It's not common, but it does happen. I received treatment (and yes, it was considered a wokers' comp issue) and 10 years later, I am still working (not the same job, though).
