It is so unbeliable that out of all the people present during this terrible event that Mr, Vicks is the only one who is being persecuted still even after serving his sentence. That double standard is still in this day and time rearing it's ugly head! Thia man has a life to live and no doubt one heck of a mortgage to pay (Let him live)! Man is the ruler over all things under the sun with the exception of other men (King James). He has to answer to a higher power and not to other men indefinitely. Oct 19th 2008 5:15PM Being politically conscience as well as navigating your way to success is a very fine line that few have mastered. One must not only be aware of his/her surroundings and simoutaneously in touch with where they come from but, also remember that they have an obligation to themselves as they make progression. I applaude this woman for I know all too well where she comes from. It's easier to look after oneself than to have to look after an entire race or culture. Everyone looking to you for that ray of hope complicated even moreso by those who feel that you owe them for being blessed by God (get real)! See her do what she do and believe that you can also ... and just do it!! These are a few of the reasons why when one reaches a certain stature that they get the heck out of dodge! We chase them away opposed to keeping them close and learning to do what they did. Nothing in life comes without a price.Ask yourself what are you prepared to do for you first? Perhaps then someone will be able to compliment you in your endeavors. Role models and success are in the eyes of the beholder. See yourself as great and then be great for the Bible speaks: For as a man thinks it so is he (Amen)! For us all!

It was a poor choice of Shaq to vent in the manner that he did but, let's not continue to add fuel to a fire that shouldn't be burning in the first place. We as a people have come a long way and some of us are still finding our way through. (In order to bake a cake an egg or two must be broken)These are the personalities that we elect to support to continue to pave the way. We didn't ask if they were perfect and without fault so, let's not judge them as such. They are growing just like all of us with the acception being: they are under a constant microscope and held to a higher level of accountability. I believe that we should take a page out of our own book and do what we ask of them .... (GROW UP)!
