Feb 6th 2011 10:37AM Here is the real problem. 1st - They pay the players an exorbitant amount of money TO PLAY A GAME. This is the same problem with MOST professional atheletes. I don't care who you are or what you can do, you are playing a game, but then they are unionized so it has become a norm. 2nd - They are charging exorbitant amounts of money for EVERYTHING from a $6 hotdog to a $3 cup of nasty coffee to hundreds of dollars for a ticket making it impossible for anyone to enjoy going to a game (then you have to deal with the drunks but we won't even get into why it should be illegal to sell or possess alcohol at an event). 3rd - They have the public believing that it is necessary for taxes to pay for these stadiums. LISTEN UP NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, etc, etc, etc. and all you idiots that vote for the tax increase. BUY YOUR OWN D@MN STADIUM don't expect me to pay for it. If I pay for the stadium with my tax dollars then it is public property, I shouldn't have to pay a penny to get into the place.
I love watching football as much as the next guy but am just sick and tired of all the whiner babies that are involved in it. Footbal is a barbaric sport, you play at your own risk (while knowing those risks). Additionally, I don't care how much you pay or want to be paid, if it is private enterprise then the governemnt (including all tax dollars) needs to stay out of it but don't expect me to pay the prices you are asking for.
Lastly, you go on strike or lock-out and when you come back, I won't even watch you on TV. I would rather watch old Lucy reruns than watch you bunch of whining buttheads or give you one penny of revenue. Just look at MLB, they never have completely recovered from thier last strike (and I still refuse to watch MLB even though before the strike I had season ticket to see the A's play.

Battery technoloy is old hat, you can only cram so much into a battery and it can only take up more energy so fast. What we need is a good old fashioned manhatan project to come up with something truely new.
