Facebook Harms American Marriages, Survey Suggests {Switched}
Jun 8th 2010 8:13PM Wow, Chrystal, that is so incredibly difficult, I can not even imagine. I actually turned my husbands proposal down a few times because I was worried that he still had feelings for his last long term g/f but I guess third time was the charm, I figured if he was going to stick it out through me rejecting him and keep coming back, then he really wanted to be with me. I guess I am lucky, in that he abhors social networking sites and actually uses mine only to beat his cousins, siblings and our mutual friends with the game scores... I actually posted a disclaimer explaining that all games, challenges or even farmville were none of my doing and if issue was to be had they could take it up with him...lol
Anyhow, I am friends with quite a few of my exes and a habitual flirt, luckily my husband isn't the jealous type and enjoys noting that I am his, even when others may desire me... For us it works, but I am not so sure how I would feel if he were the one to be chatting it up with his ex (she is very deceptive, when we original started dating and she found out she had a sudden interest in spending time with my then BF when she had been the one to cheat on him and had not spoken to him for a year. Then proceeded to talk trash about me -we never met- to anyone who would listen) that sounds a lot like a double standard, well it is, I guess, but it's one he has no qualms about.
I do however believe that facebook has provided a useful way for long lost loves to reconnect and friends and family as well. And that tool (like any other) can be misused, but it is the wielder of the tool that decides it's ultimate outcome, so yes, facebook can not be blamed. Poor morals, no ability to restrain themselves, ability to rationalize even the most foul choices, sure, they could be a potion of the culprit, but they belong wholly to the bearer and regardless of tools, if the opportunity presented itself in any other manner, they would have acted equally as disdainfully.
Goal! Spanish Soccer Team Plays 200 Children and Doesn't Even Let Them Win {ParentDish}
May 23rd 2010 4:34PM I am glad to hear that SOME countries are placing emphasis on playing the best you can and your opponent giving their all too. Knowing when you walk off the field even with a loss of 3-5 you have the pride of saying you got those three goals against one hell of a team and you learn from them. I am so sick of the "celebrate mediocrity" attitude that we seem to have adopted. Kids that excel, should be recognized. The best players on a team should get more field time (because it IS about winning - otherwise we wouldn't keep score) and if a player hasn't been getting a lot of field time, THAT is the incentive to work harder and push their limits. I am not talking about 3rd graders (and below), because keeping score in their games is only for the parents benefit. They are learning the mechanics of the game, the skills they will need to implement when the more challenging years come. When, they should be made aware, that those skills will determine their playtime and their entire teams success or failure.
Baby Formula is Not Rat Poison {ParentDish}
Apr 17th 2010 3:31PM With the exception of mothers who are physically unable to breast feed (i.e. inverted nipples, blocked ducts, poor milk production) yes I absolutely think any other reason for not attempting to breastfeed is completely, wholly and utterly SELFISH. It hurts, I don't want to have to pump at work, it's hard.... waaahhhh... having kids is hard, sacrifice is not only required but essential in allowing our children to prosper. Over and Over and Over we have been educated on the benefits of breastfeeding and the dangers of not... yet as you clearly pointed out only 14% are still breastfeeding at 6 months. I would be very interested to see what the percentage of breast fed babies in Europe and Asia is ( where their children are crushing Americans in education, intelligence and ability) I am certain it would be revealing. I have my theories on how formula fed equates to higher incidence of obesity .Breastfeeding is tailor made for your baby... formula is a chemically altered mass produced substitute for breast milk. You should look into the production of formula and how much of it is a guessing game for what and how much benefits a baby. I imagine I could rant on this for hours but as the comments are so extensive I doubt my voice will be heard. Breast is best!!! Formula is an expensive imitation, a substitute for the REAL thing.

Apr 10th 2010 2:13PM @ Sickend ... I am glad to see that you are providing an excuse to pedophiles and rapists. That kind of backward thinking is what stopped women from reporting rapes and the like to begin with. They were told it was their fault. And apparently you agree with that. I blame the pedophile, the rapist and the molester themselves... it is their duty to control their urges no matter what wanders nearby and if they can't they don't belong in society. If I were a kleptomaniac could I defend my actions by saying "the store just has all this stuff displayed, what do they expect me to do?"

The Gear Ring by Kinekt {Luxist}
Feb 15th 2010 2:32PM Very cool design, but for 20 bucks on overstock you can but a "chain" ring that is a tungston ring with a black metal chain that moves freely around it... of course maybe not a wedding band, but cool (and cheap) none the less!!
