Summit Ranch, Estate of the Day {Luxist}
Mar 20th 2011 10:12PM Unfortunately Eric, I think this may be our last EOTD. Deidre posted a few days ago letting everyone know that he/she was let go. It is really a sad situation, as I think it was Deirdre’s posts were the reason many of us became fans of Luxist.
Anyway, if you happen to read this Deidre please get in touch, I may have an opportunity for you. And if you are already moved on to bigger and better horizons, let us know where we can follow you!

I should have commented on this article when I first read it, but cheers for the good post. You have done a great job capturing the essence of city center.
It's Official: Mikhail Prokhorov Loses $55 Million Villa Leopolda Deposit {Luxist}
Mar 4th 2010 4:46PM Let be honest with ourselves,
He is a Russian Oligarch, and if you are aware of the state of corruption that proliferates the now sad Russian economy, then all that means is he was a gangster or had the right friends.
You really can’t respect money of this magnitude in Russia, because it was literally all made over-night through bullying and having ties, not through business sense.
This deal is one example. The original asking was in the ballpark of 70 million, yes 70. But in an age when Russian oligarchs wanted to prove who had the deepest pockets he offered 750 million. There was no business sense involved. His down payment most likely could have paid for the property in its entirety if he was truly a smarter person.

Madoff's Debts Still Snowballing - Enter the Legal Fees {Luxist}
Nov 23rd 2009 9:32PM Actually, they should not be compensated for that service.
The ones who should be compensated first and foremost are the ones who lost their money. Lets be real here, Madoff had/has no money of his own to pay these fees, it was all stolen in the first place.
You cant work for a crook then hope to be paid with someone elses money.

If perhaps the bed sheets remain, the new owner would be wise to burn them.

Oct 6th 2009 11:49PM That's a lot of competition for this laptop!
I would take the laptop on my much needed upcoming road trip. Being in college for 7 years will have that affect. Anyway the trip is going to be up and back down the California coast on the scenic hwy 1.
BTW Deidre thanks for the give-away!
