Researchers Say Caffeine May Cause Infertility {ParentDish}

Jun 1st 2011 3:23PM From my own personal experience, this research does have some merit. I donate blood and was told by the medical technicians that caffeine affects the body's ability to absorb iron. Within the last two years, I moved across the street from a coffee shop and began drinking coffee almost everyday. I take vitamin & mineral supplements regularly and my iron count dropped too low to donate blood. I also noticed that my periods had almost stopped. When I stopped drinking coffee everyday, my iron count normalized and my periods returned. I sincerely believe my hormones levels have changed due to menopause and what I eat/drink has a greater impact on my reproductive system. When I was younger, I had no reproductive issues and my periods came and went like clock work. Now things have changed and I pay much more attention to what I eat/drink to make sure my body is absorbing the necessary nutrients because over the counter vitamin/mineral supplements may not be enough.

Pippa Middleton Is All Smiles at French Open (Photo) {PopEater}

May 31st 2011 9:07PM To be perfectly frank, she's a rather plain woman who's being "over exposed" and set up for a big "let down". I don't recall this much fuss over the late Princess Diana's siblings and they were actually Royals??? If she was an established British media personality such as Simon Cowell, it would make much more sense.

Essence Under Fire: Just Another Hollywood Rag? {BV Black Spin}

May 27th 2011 6:39AM ********************CORRECTED POST************

Essence was sold to Time, Inc. in order to perpetuate its survival. In today's media climate, all print publications are competing "head to head" with online media outlets. It's very difficult for Essence to expand its subscription base when people are no longer solely depend upon print publications to provide them with relevant news and social commentary. Frankly, Essence isn't the only well known publication that regularly embraces "high profile" individuals. All magazines are using the same metrics to justify their existence and celebrities on the cover make people interested enough to at least skim through or purchase a magazine. What good is publishing a magazine that's not profitable? Survival is the name of the game and let's not delude ourselves -- everything changes and all changes aren't necessarily bad. Mr. Jackson should spend much more time networking with blacks executives in the publishing business rather than criticizing them. In the end, we're all looking for the same things. Respect, prosperity and relevance. There's enough room for everybody and not all publications can be all things to everyone.

Forbes Writer Details Jay-Z's Life in Unauthorized Biography 'Empire State of Mind' {The Boombox}

May 8th 2011 3:58AM They must mean something to "YOU", if you even bothered to comment on this article, "douche bag"!!!

Forbes Writer Details Jay-Z's Life in Unauthorized Biography 'Empire State of Mind' {The Boombox}

May 8th 2011 3:34AM WHATEVER!!! Realistically, the majority of "self-made" millionaires regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds have made decisions that resulted in others being left "out in the cold". Just because people start out together on a joint venture, doesn't mean they have similar "values" or "goals". The only "constant" in life is "CHANGE"! Nothing is guaranteed and fame is "fleeting" at best.

Why would Jay-Z sign onto a project in which he's getting nothing financially in return? GETTING PAID IS THE "NAME OF THE GAME", PERIOD!!! A person in his position has to weigh the "pros and cons" of all endeavors in terms of "how will this impact my bottomline?" It was simply much more "profitable" for Jay-Z to publish his own book than to help promote Mr. Greenburg's. There's two sides to every story and who's to say that Mr. Greenburg's sources aren't without their personal biases for obvious reasons. Frankly, I have no intentions of reading it because Jay-Z's success speaks for itself. I don't need a "blow by blow" account of other people's perceptions. How he and Beyonce choose to live their lives is "STRICTLY" their business and I'm not mad at them!!!

Paul McCartney to Marry for Third Time {Spinner}

May 6th 2011 1:40PM Congratulations to Paul and Nancy!

At least he really took his time to get to know this woman. It's not always easy to win the approval of children from previous marriages. Being able to do so, says a great deal about Nancy's strength of character. May they have a long and happy marriage. Love, romance and marriage "rocks at any age"! PEACE!!!

Serena Williams Heads to the Studio to Become Rapper {PopEater}

Apr 26th 2011 3:47PM You go, Serena! All successful rappers didn't use "derogatory" lyrics and themes. Look at Will Smith! This approach launched his very successful entertainment career. Ignore the HATERS!!!

'The Girl's Guide to Homelessness' Author Brianna Karp Offers Advice to Young People on the Streets {ParentDish}

Apr 26th 2011 3:33PM God Bless you, Brianna Karp! I can't wait for your book to come out and will certainly buy it. Stories such as yours really need to be told because so many people are facing similar circumstances and just don't know what to do. I hope you can get a "movie" deal, too. I live in your area and see what you see everyday. More and more young people are becoming homeless daily and lack the skills and coping mechanisms to "rationally" deal with their situation. Being a young woman in an "unsafe" situation would have made you particularly vulnerable to "sexual" predators and you avoided this peril, landing back on your feet. You're a "true" survivor. Lindsay Lohan certainly needs you as a "life" coach!!!
