Sep 27th 2010 6:52PM "No one seriously balks at the rating of TV and movies and music. Why not have some type of rating for books? Banning of books always centers on some objectionable content. It seems to me to be an easy task. I vote for book-rating."
And who decides what is objectionabvle? In movies, etc there is visual depictions of sexual or violent content for instance about which there is little disagreement if inappropriate or not. Reading means using your imagination. We do not ban Harry Potter movies because some people think it means the endorsement of witchcraft but it is ok to ban harry potter books? Some people do not believe in G-d do we ban the Bible, some people do not believe in evolution do we ban Darwin's Origin Of The Species. Some people believe Huckleberry Finn is racist because of the language used, do we ban Twain? (for starters)

Jul 10th 2010 1:15PM Wolf is very rich from this. He complained he wanted it to make history longest running drama, but greed took over.
Not sure what show the writer was watching, Anderson and Sisto were awful and the writing lost a lot of what L&O was. They need to get a good casting director and writers who watched the show from the inception and know what an L&O twist is.
This show was my fav for years and the early ones still are.
In LA, I don;t know NYC is one of the starts.

Jul 5th 2010 10:50AM years ago I volunteered at a school for 'exceptional' children. The child to whom I was assigned was diagnosed 'autistic' I worked with him one on one and by the end of my 6 weeks there this child was completely changed, talking, involved, responding to others, etc. He then spen t the summer at home and the next year when I saw him at school he exhibited the same autistic behaviors. Too many are being misdiagnosed and thrown away to institutions like this and worse. Yes, before I am jumped on, there are many who are appropriately diagnosed but we throw away way too many under the guise of ADD< ADHD< autism, etc because the parents/school system can;t or won;t be bothered to give them the time and attention they need.
