Jul 19th 2011 12:56AM Doesn't anyone just believe in FUN anymore? My son was married in Florida in April, and we drove down from Virginia. We stopped at South of the Border on the way there AND back just to putter around and grab a few T Shirts and souveniers. Our 13 yr old son and 18 yr old daughter both LOVED it! No, we didn't stay at the motel, just stopped for the store each time and kids got a few cute things and we even got some a 'Mexican' blanket (made in China! lol) for a couch throw! You have to get out sometimes and just have FUN! Wearing a cute flower necklace now that I got there for a dollar! VERY fun place!

Jul 1st 2011 2:32PM I never expected to have anyone home now but my 13 yr old son with my other children all adults. This article is truer than true. My adult kids are struggling. One daughter has no job but she's going to school in the fall - thank God for Student Aid! Another daughter is pregnant, husband left to chase women a few months ago. I have raised her first since day one, he is now 3. They're all living with us. Add that I am disabled on SSD and my husband supports us all. BEST thing is my husband's job is thriving, praise God! True though that we are all closer for it. (AOL pleasee get rid of this spam!!)

May 27th 2011 5:32PM Myrna -- The days when we were in school, when discipine (proper!) and common sense and respect reigned are so far long gone that it is sad and pathetic. All you need to is look at the spelling and grammar on these boards. Either teachers are all like this one in the article, or lazy, or at their wits end with children that parents refuse to dicipline. Quality teaching is a long lost art form, as are so many things these days. It's sad, but true. The days of 'sense and sensibility' are LONG gone.

May 25th 2011 10:26PM I love reading this column, and I need some URGENT type advise about one of my cats. How do I get that question to you? I KEEP forgetting to call the vet, and not sure they can help me without charge. I really need advise BIG time!
On this story - love it! I have a dresser in my room that has a very high top shelf that I guess would be used to store lesser used items, could be used for nick-nacks, etc. and my cats, one in particular, LOVES to be up there! It's about a foot from the bedroom ceiling, that's how high it is. My boy, my "Tiger' jumps off that high shelf and right onto the bed when wants some lovin' and then back up he goes before his brother has a chance to get up there so that he is the 'King of the house' or whatever. He's the same cat who will not let me go to the bathroom unless he is in there with me and will howl outside the bathroom door until or unless I let him in. There's no doubt, of my 3 cats, that 'Tiger' believes that HE owns me!

That's why your life is career first with your 'women's movement' while your children are raised by everyone but you so you can keep up with the men while you 'keep up with the Joneses'. The so called women's movement has done more damage than good to this country and especially our young people. No guidance because mom is fighting to keep up with a man. Shameful all the way around.
