Illegal Immigrant 'Stash House' in Houston Had 48 People Living Inside, Police Say {AOL Real Estate}

Jeffrey Mitchell of Miramar Beach, Fla., Displays 'Sex Offender' Sign in His Front Yard {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 8th 2012 8:43PM I applaud this man for what he did. Too many people want to fight the fact that, for the rest of their lives, they will be called "sex offender", and they do everything in their power to try to get that designation lifted. They show no remorse for what they do, and if they're sent to prison, they try to get out early. Look at Jerry Sandusky as the example of living in Egypt, because he's still in denial about what he did. This man, Jeffrey, is willing to take the possible harassment, looks, jeers, etc. so his neighbors will know what he is. I hope Jeffrey's landlord knew that he was putting that sign in the frontyard before he did it. The only thing in the article that took me aback was when he said he didn't know how that pornography got on his computer. The way I see it, if the cops found out it was on there, he had to have known. Otherwise, there are very teensy tiny people inside the computer letting cops know what other people put on your computer. He had to have known what was on the computer, because I don't know how the cops would have found out if he hadn't told someone, who told the cops. Regardless, I wouldn't be hesitant at all to have Jeffrey for a neighbor.

Dec 8th 2012 8:34PM Both of those things were illegal for her to do. I don't know if this can still be done, but there was a time when, if you told your landlord you needed repairs, and they weren't getting done, you could withhold rent until those repairs were done. OR, you could do the repairs yourself, or hire someone to do them, then give the receipt to the landlord, and the landlord HAD to accept your receipt, and the landlord HAD to deduct that amt. from your rent. Times have changed so much that I don't know if those things still hold true. But, don't accept living conditions like that again, if you ever wind up in an apt. again. They're illegal.
Actor Tommy 'Tiny' Lister to Plead Guilty in Mortgage Fraud Scheme {AOL Real Estate}
Sep 8th 2012 9:16PM You know that religious people are religious only during the time they're in church, IF they go to church. The christians I've come across live in glass houses. They think because they have god in their heart, and because they preach his word, those things absolve them from any wrong they do. As much as I've seen "Tiny" Lister in tv, he should have made quite a bit of money, and should have been prudent enough to save/invest wisely. Shame on him if he didn't, and shame on him for breaking the law.
Director Antonio Calenda Sues Ex-Lover Natasha Diamond-Walker Over $800,000 Apartment 'Loan' {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 8th 2012 1:55PM Even though she broke off the relationship, can he sue her before 2018, which is the agreement for the repayment of the loan? Even if she has paid nothing to date, if there was no written contract, or no verbal contract stating she would make payments to him, then paying off the loan in full in Dec. 2018, he can't sue her, can he? AND, if they had a written contract, he can't now get the loan officially declared a mortgage if he didn't own the property, he can't sue for interest, maybe punitive damages, though. I'm not a lawyer. I just watch the judge shows, and know that once you have a contract, you can't change the terms because you're not getting paid, or because the relationship broke off.
Strolling through the airport just got more exciting with the new musical floor {Gadling}
Jan 17th 2012 5:11AM And, here I thought we were going to see a musical floor like the oversized piano keys in the Tom Hanks movie, Big. And, personally, if I spent just ten seconds in an airport, and had to hear this guy's "musical invention", I'd go bonkers, and never go back to that airport.
Vet's Widow and Son Receive Gift of a Lifetime {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 20th 2011 12:02PM I'm SO glad we have people in this world, like Dan, who have such huge hearts. Our veterans and the elderly are the first ones we need to be looking out for, and yet we don't. If I had the means, I would definitely help them out every way possible.
Jodie Foster's Dad Guilty of Housing Fraud {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 9th 2011 12:37PM First of all, greed isn't a disease. It's just what it is...greed. Jodie isn't responsible for what her dad did, and if she pays for his illegal activity, how is it going to sink into his head that what he did was very serious? He needs to take on that responsibility. If he has any property, it needs to be sold and and the proceeds given back to the ones he scammed. Then, if he gets paid for whatever work he does in prison, that money should also go to the ones he scammed. Then, if he gets out of prison and all the money he scammed still isn't paid back, whatever he earns should be paid to those people. If any one of those people he scammed were then in dire straits because of the amount he scammed from them, he should live in dire straits until the money gets paid back.

Greek Outcry Over Kraft's Athenos Ads: Hummus and Hookers, Oh My! {WalletPop}
Mar 1st 2011 12:03AM I don't see the connection here. But, it seems these days anything goes on tv, with product ads, with everything. Funny thing is, the outrage over this commercial made the internet. But, did anyone else out there besides me see the Safe Auto commercial where the man gets kicked in the genitals about 10 times? Where was the outrage over that? I don't know how many protest emails besides mine that Safe Auto marketing got, but that ad isn't on anymore. Maybe it will appear again, and my protest email didn't work. Who knows? But it seems that society these days just accepts everything, because after all, society is of the mentality to watch all these reality shows, and if nothing on those shows bothers them, then why should a grandma calling a hostess a prostitute bother them?
