Why Would Anyone Ever Go To Afghanistan? {Gadling}
Dec 4th 2012 5:17PM Afghanistan is one of the most amazing countries in the world. I have been many times but not since the Russians invaded. I have no desire to go now and get my head cut off.
I found the people to be friendly and very welcoming. The food was always good. I spent a month or so in the winter there and nearly froze to death; I do indeed empathize with our brave and noble troops, ( especially those hidden up in the mountains with no tell-tail fire to keep them warm).
In Herat I met an elderly man, his wife, and body-guard returning from Mecca. He was a "Tribal Leader," of one of those mountain regions ruled by the evil Taliban now. It is true that a guest is treated like a member of the family or like royalty. We ate bear nuts together.
I made a lot money too selling the famed "sheepskin" coat that no Hippie could live without. The makers made more money than they had ever dreamed. There were custom orders with jewels and glitter by more famous Brits who bought not one but ten to be cool. The ancient "ruins.." the variations by regions, the dialects, happy little kids, all destroyed by decades of war. Nope, not today.
How Washington's Hotels Are Readying For Inauguration: Our Favorite Luxury Packages {Gadling}
Dec 4th 2012 4:49PM We all know that this happens every four years so the only thing to keep one from going would be perhaps the person who won or lost.
I always stay, it is a standing reservation, at the Hay-Adams. I appreciate the design of the hotel done by Mesrobian. I like the location and I really enjoy their Sunday brunch.
DC is a wonderful walking-around town and it still retains a bit of a "town" feeling rather than the large city it has become. It is easy to get around, and to navigate. To stand at the Jefferson or the Lincoln late at night gives me a great feeling.
Police Can Install Hidden Cameras on Private Property Without a Warrant, Judge Rules {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 3rd 2012 10:00AM Sorry to have to tell you son, it has been long over; and it knows no particular political party. The so called Patriot Act, the NDAA, was Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama. Please read, please. We The People must understand any violation of our given rights; rights that Americans have died for and continue to give their lives for. The right of habeas corbus was suspended years back. That was one of the most important rights fought for in our revolution against England, ( In the Declaration of Independence). They need no warrents, they do not even have to knock on the door of your home...
Gary Harrington of Oregon Jailed for Illegal Rainwater Reservoirs on His Property {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 13th 2012 7:02PM The State? What harm has he done? Who has he hurt? and $1,500 fine to boot. Lock-up for 30 days, I guess that will teach him, but what? My grand mother would collect rain water to wash her hair with. I wish they had tried to lock her up. People from around the world would be there to come to her aid.
An inspirational bike ride across America {Gadling}
Feb 25th 2012 3:33PM So this is what it takes to get the medias attention? I just happened to be in Baltimore when I saw on the local TV an interview with a young man, Paul Lebell who was doing Bikefree.org. His mission was to ride from Baltimore to California to raise funds for the children of our fallen troops. The goal was to make the kids a little happy by giving them a new bicycle. He did it, that would have been two years ago in June. He gave away hundreds of bikes to these little kids and never a mention from the national media. Not one mention by the press.
When I saw it on the local TV I decided that I was going to meet this young man. I was staying just a few blocks from where he was departing in the Baltimore Harbor. I asked him about his job. He said that he had been told that there would always be a place for him when he returned to the city. He had also started a dance party, had invested thousands, and that it was finally making money. He told me that on a "hand-shake" it had been agreed that when he returned it would all be his again, that the other people would just be running it for him. I said "and if they don't, your regular job and your club?" He said, " it won't matter, I will not always have a chance to help the children, I can always get a job."
You guessed it. He biked across America, to Portland and then south to San Diego where he gave out the first batch of bicycles. This was all on his website and may still be. The happy faces of these children made me very happy. What a good thing this lad did. When he returned to Baltimore; No job. His dance club, stolen in the name of money. That hand shake ment nothing. However, I feel he knows how much it ment to the children to whom he was able to give bicycles and to those people who had donated to the mission. To me, this is real giving from the heart. I hope some one in Baltimore is reading this, maybe his email is still up on the Bikefree.org web site. Make him an offer, "good deeds should be rewarded" in the here and now.
Marc Anthony treats 'Q'Viva' staff to vacation, brings smiles to Dominican kids {Celestrellas}
Dec 21st 2011 6:10PM I just happened to be there at the time. They stayed at Casa de Campo where we keep a little home.
They were drunk and loud and showed no respect to others. They were plain rude to the staff; maids and waiters and treated them like dirt.
We flew out the next day. Effing trash.

Dec 17th 2011 12:21PM After seeing your picture, I bet it has been longer than two years; more like NEVER!
You are fat, I mean obese to the extreme. How can any person allow themselves to be 400 pounds, 300 of which is fat.
I know you can't help your looks but you are really ugly. Somewhere out there is something for you. Let me suggest that you join a kennel club. Other dogs will love you if you give them love.
Ugggg. Fat and Ugly and you advertise yourself?

I have been there, long ago. The food is great.

Dec 17th 2011 12:08PM We are going to start a chain of these caves starting next year. It is the name that we are unable to decide on. Our "Madison Avenue" over paid experts are suggesting "Cave-Dwellers," and "Neanderthal Suites." What do you all think? Should we run a contest for this; do people care enough to enter?
Thank you for the help.
Personally, I can't see it. I would much rather have a room with a view, the higher up the better as in the Penthouse suites in our grand hotels.
The demographic studies show that there is a great demand for this.
