Nov 10th 2010 10:51AM Sure better than flying, got stranded in Oakland Ca with Southwest Airlines a few years back, was supposed to be in Vancouver Wa, and they charged us full price to fly from Oakland to Portland OR..Nice people Southwest, I will not fly ever again, broke me from sucking eggs for sure....I takes the train now and love it....

Oct 1st 2010 2:21AM About 5 years ago we flew from BWI Baltimore Md to Portland Or...They knew from the start the weather was too bad to land in Portland but protocal says you must to there anyway and then turn and go somewhere else, in this case Oakland Ca. The next morning after paying out about$100.00 for a motel the lady at Southwest Airlines told me it would be another $250.00 a piece for my wife and I to fly to Portland Or, where we were supposed to be right then. It was not their fault the weather was bad, I got so angry I took the train, loved it, and decided to tear up my ticket home and ride the train from Seattle Wa to Martinsburg WV. I loved it but not my wife. I will never fly again unless it is a very serious sitation. I hate Southwest, but thats just me....Kids crying the whole trip, they are all given first picks of seats of course no matter who get there first. From Utah we got stuck with some teen age kids with two girl friends who was so high on dope it wasn't funny. He about drove us nuts but the flight person didn't do anything, so we just endured. Sick people coughing the whole trip, like 8 and a half hours, no food or drink. Never will I fly Southwest again, but thats just me..........Vern
