They just puppet the songs while a decent band behind them plays loud enough to cover up for them a little. She is happy to talk about those happy childhood Christmas memories that she has, but she forgets it was her parents who gave those memories to her. I'm puzzled as to why she would write about her selfishness during a season where giving of oneself is celebrated. She's proud of this?

You act like in your next life you might grant your parents' wish to have you home for Christmas, but in this life you can't really be bothered. The airfare to Canada is too expensive, you say? What does it cost to fly to Hong Kong? "They are always busy shopping or wrapping gifts, etc....". it sounds like you don't want to be there if you can't be the center of attention every second. The meaning of Christmas is lost on you. It's best that you fly to Peru, China or wherever else your ego takes you.
