Jun 21st 2010 12:56PM The best thing I can say about Renel is that I no longer "hear" her at all. To say that she's always been a fan is a bit of an overstatement - the first few years at the ballpark, she mispronounced a horrendous amount of names, to the point it was a local joke. She's fully competent at this point, but sort of sad that it's STILL a big deal that there's a woman announcer. Would have thought in ten years someone else would have done something like this.

I think it's a great idea, and every little bit helps. Kudos to the Saints for helping out with this debacle.

Oct 22nd 2009 4:15PM Dude, this is a guy who CRIED on draft day because it was so humiliating for him to fall to FOURTH overall. Such a huge headcase. I'm glad he's being productive, and sure I hold a grudge against him for slaughtering a few of my fantasy teams, but yeah he really needs to man up.

Well done. I agree that of all the reasons folks give for not going to games, complaining about the prices is just silly. It can get crazy expensive if you don't watch yourself, as you mention, but it's controllable. In fact, of all the major sports, baseball makes it the MOST affordable. If you ran a ticket price for the NFL teams, you would be looking at 10x the numbers you posted.

To me, you are also snubbing Mark Reynolds here a bit. I say this as a Giants fan - he deserves it more than Pablo Sandoval - and they BOTH deserve it more than Zimmerman. You kill two birds with one stone by replacing the Nationals player with Adam Dunn, who also deserves it, and boot Brad Hawpe -- Jason Marquis is already there from the Rockies. Then, put Reynolds in for Zimmerman, and it's all good.
Reynolds has 24 HR and 13 SB already - you can't quite double that, but clearly he's on pace for something like a 35 HR, 20 SB season and that's pretty quality, isn't it?

Jul 16th 2008 5:20PM Making lists like this are always tough...but I think it's hard to exclude Eric Byrnes from an all-suck list. Everyone who drafted him did so hoping he'd at least swipe 30 SB if not the 50 from last season. He'll end with a .200 average and FOUR - 4! - stolen bases. Total waste of a draft pick.
