Sep 22nd 2009 8:08PM Roman, honey, you need to get over yourself.
Sep 18th 2009 12:38PM Dunno which is more repulsive, this or the bacon beer.
Aug 18th 2009 1:45PM Thank you for the note of caution about expecting books to go up in value. I've worked in the book biz all my life, and can't count the number of times people have wanted me to look at some treasured book (or shelf of books) and tell me what it's worth, and the only truthful answer is 'not much'. Here's why: now that it's so easy to sell used books on the web, people are dragging stuff out of their basements, attics and garages and listing them, and the world is awash in $1 copies of just about anything you care to name. If it's truly rare, maybe it's worth something, but 99.99% of the time, it's really not.
Hm. Slight rant developed there, sorry. Keep your books because you love them, but don't be surprised if no one else does.
Aug 17th 2009 11:03AM Oh, please. Can we not grow up and get away from fur? Off one rodent, onto another.
Aug 14th 2009 2:54PM Deidre - thanks for finding and showing us this glorious old house. I sincerely hope it goes to someone who will respect and preserve it.
Aug 12th 2009 10:04PM Wonder if Elsa Peretti has seen this yet.
Aug 12th 2009 9:17PM Seriously, why would anyone want to live in Ladera Ranch!? It's godknowshowmany miles from the beach. You can get the same amount of house for the same $ much closer to the water. Nelson is right, SoCal is awash in places like this. Pick your location, name your price.
Jul 29th 2009 3:58PM Too many charities chasing too few dollars. Same old, only worse lately.
Jul 24th 2009 7:15PM If gov't health care is socialist, isn't the public school system also?
Jul 21st 2009 6:10PM Fur: off one rodent, onto another.
