Jul 21st 2009 6:21PM I need to call BS on this as to the pilots or other similarly paid workers. 12 hour commute? While LA is expensive, if they have a twelve hour commute, they live outside of Los Angeles, even most of the surrounding counties and maybe even SoCal (you can drive to San Francisco or Las Vegas and back in 12 hours). My guess is that this is a choice issue for the most part, they don't want to live in LA but want a job that requires them to live near within commuting distance of LA. As for the lesser paid individuals this is believable, but not for the others. Someone is feeding you a sob story.
