I live on the east coast so we just have to worry about fallout blowing in from the west - but once that's cleared we're fine. We can use the money saved on defensive systems to pay for cleanup and new housing for those few who mange to get hit.

Feb 21st 2009 9:19PM I can't believe anyone pays those incredible interst rates - I used to and still do think 12% is outrageous when the banks pay 3/4 of 1% on CDs and 2/10 of 1% on passbook savings accounts. Now some charge up to 29.99% over prime - like Louie the Hooks used to charge. I'd charge it up and take a hike - I imagine most folks will be doing that - banks don't break kneecaps.
So what does that accomplish for the banks? Lot's of court time, legal fees and paperwork - maybe THAT will create jobs...
