Meet Breast Cancer Survivor: Peggy Fleming {Breast Cancer Blog}

Oct 11th 2007 8:53PM I'm a 7-year-plus survivor. I had a lumpectomy which didn't get it all, and then a mastectomy. The lymph nodes were clear. I had the surgery on Thursday, Jan.6, 2000, and played the organ in church on Sunday. Next week, on Wednesday, I'm going to have the remaining breast removed so I won't have the discomfort of a bra rubbing on places that don't appreciate it. I had a melanoma on my shoulder and the removal left a sensitive place that the bra strap really hurts. Hallelujah! I'm 68 years old, a widow with three grown children who are very supportive of my foibles. Thank you, God!
