AOL Straw Poll: Aug. 18-25 {Politics Daily}
Aug 21st 2008 1:21PM Got an e-mail the other day titled SAD NEWS, the rose garden has been removed from the White House Lawn and a watermelon patch was put in its place. Wonder if Obama is sure enough of victory that he is having a special chef sent to White HOuse to pick up chitterlings cooking skills?
Hot Seat: Obama's Press Coverage {Politics Daily}
Jul 20th 2008 12:22PM is it just me or didn't Obama show up on the scene and went straight from Scene 1, proving himself to hold public office. He is a new Senator, he needs time to learn, to about the next to the last chapter, that of being almost worshiped and the last chapter comes in November when he is elected President. This is scary, as I too, was impressed with him for the first 2 or 3 speeches I heard him make and suddently a light went on, he's pouring the Kool Aid and I had my glass ready. And you know there is something rotten in Denmark when Hillary Clinton lost out by a very small margin. It is not in the Clintons' genes, Bill's or Hillary's to lose so unless they are fighting under the table battles to get this soon to be nomination turned around, America better start doing MOREpraying. The news media are being manipulated by unknown forces to cause them to change their usual media coverage. And I am so so sick of the "race" card, Martin Luther King is probably turning over in his grave at "his" people destroying everything he fought so hard for. His "dream" has become a nightmare. The only way the race issue is going to ever get settled is for blacks to quit whining about what the "whites" did to them over 200 years ago. Most, if not all, of the people living today do not have slaves, are not slaves, some may have ancestors that had slaves, but they are gone and they came before us so how is it "my" fault that slavery existed? Slavery was a horrific thing done by one race to another and I am appalled that this atrocity happened and was told about was told about in our history books. So, read my lips, I did not cause slavery, as far as I know none of my ancestors had slaves, the history books I was forced to read in school tell that the blacks in Africa sold some of their own people to American slaveowners, but you whiners would prefer to forget that , wouldn't you, I don't use the N word, but get this, if that word is so offensive YOU should not use it either. Get the chip off your shoulders, raise the bar to strive to become united as a nation, we won't always agree but we should be able to settle things in a spirit of unity. If you continue to whine then do it around someone besides me. I have already stated that slavery was wrong, sitting in the back of the bus was wrong, separate restrooms were wrong, but it's over! If you whine around me don't expect me to apologize for my ancesters' actions, instead I should be whining about all the times I have been blamed for something I had nothing to do with. Racism is alive and well but the people using the race card are not the whites, it is the Farakans, and then there's good ole' Rev. Wright spewing his hatred from the pulpit of God's Church. And the potential first lady (this is really scary) saying that for the first time in her adult life she is proud of her country. This from someone who started from humble beginnings to work her way thru university and getting master's degrees and making a salary of $300,000 per year. So that ddidn't make her proud? She wasn't proud of her country that gave her grants, scholarships, etc to make that kind of money in a prewstigious position? No it took the possibility of becoming First Lady to make her proud. She wasn't too proud to accept all the benefits she received, you notice. The only thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history. Jim Jones has been reincarnated with a different name, he's preparing the Kool Aid folks! Be smart. Don't drink it!
Dream Ticket Update: Looking Good {Politics Daily}
Jul 6th 2008 4:01PM Obama is bad news and it never ceases to amaze me how many people have fallen under his spell. I would like to verify the fact that when he was sworn in to the Senate that he put his hand on the Koran instead of the Bible. If it is true, then steps should be taken starting now that will prohibit him from using any book except the Bible. He should be emphatically told that he must place his hand on the Bible and he insists on the Koran, then he should not become President. Per chance he would wait til the very last minute and would try to switch a Koran for the Bible he should not be sworn in. It might be a first for America, they could swear in the vice presidential candidate as VP and then turn around and swear them into the presidency until a new President can be elected. Might mean a new amendment would have to be passed. If pressing this issue offends the Muslims, too bad. Millions of Americans, like me would be more than offended if a Koran is allowed to be used instead of the Bible. As I stated before I can't believe so many people have been sucked in by his "charm". Wake up America. Too bad we don't have any good candidates to choose from in November.
Hot Seat: McCain's War Record {Politics Daily}
Jun 30th 2008 2:33PM America should be forever grateful to John McCain for his war record. But his military record does not have in relevency as to whether he has the ability to be President. Candidates need to have knowledge of all the issues and plans on how to change things that need to be changed.
I am neither Republican or Democrat and this year I would love to have "none of the above" put on the ballot.
By the same token, Obama's lack on military heroism should not be factored into his ability to be President.
The only time military service should be taken into account about candidates running for any office is if the candidates were "draft dodgers" or if their military record is questionable (for example "W").
Both McCain and Obama have their good points and their bad points and neither one shows me a stong plan for taking care of issues we, as a nation, have at the moment.
But, fellow Americans, keep in mind, if it had not been for the John McCains who went thru what had to be a living hell, who knows if we would have the freedom left to criticize our leaders or would be leaders. Thank you, John McCain. (but for the record as of this date, I do not plan to vote for you, and it is an absolute certainty I will not vote for Obama).
Hot Seat: Obama and Public Financing {Politics Daily}
Jun 19th 2008 7:03PM So what else is new? Another flip flopper running for President. Next thing you know, there will be a story about how many women Obama has been with.
Baby born 15x's over legal limit {ParentDish}
Jun 11th 2008 8:16PM I think the mother should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Should the baby die, God forbid, the mother should be locked away or at the very least, sterilized so she cannot bring another baby into her world. If this one lives, she should be put in a foster home. She would be in constant danger around this lady.
AOL Straw Poll: June 5 - June 13 {Politics Daily}
Jun 7th 2008 2:00PM If it were not for the fact that I am a born again Christian, therefore have the assurance that I will abide with my Savior in Heaven for eternity, I would be most distraught over the current choices (or lack of ) for President. Obama's being named the Democratic candidate put the final nail on the coffin on America as we know it can be. If he gains the Presidency I can only pray that the Rapture occur quickly.
Hot Seat: The Death Penalty {Politics Daily}
May 24th 2008 12:12AM I think a candidate's views on capital punishment should be an issue. There are lots of issues and some people think that worrying about capital punishment is not something we need to deal with. It has already been proven that capital punishment does not deter crime. To me, death is too easy, they need to be put in solitary confinement for the rest of their days with minimal human contact. No movies, no books, no radio, no clock , food put in thru hole in the door, all they would be able to do is to think about what they had done. I find it hard to figure how someone can be pro capital punishment and anti aborttion. Killing is killing. I am anti abortion, anti capital punishment. There are many issues in this campaign that should be addressed more frequently and the candidate's ideas on how to find solutions to the problems.
Hot Seat: Is Obama a Fake Christian? {Politics Daily}
Apr 17th 2008 4:19AM According to the Bible we are not to judge others, but it also says that by their fruits you will know them and all the fruits out of Obama's mouth regarding his Christianity (or lack there of) have been sour. And the fact that he did not leave the church the first time he heard what the so called Minister of the church was saying, he would be looking for another church to go for worship. Rev. Knight is using the church as a front for his bigoted rantings. Things seem to get worse on a daily basis, and for the possessors of as opposed to the pRofessors of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ our hope is in a loving God. In all the years that I have been old enough to vote I have never failed to vote, this year will be the first time. There is no one to vote for. Obama says that people in small town America are bitter about the economy and we cling to our faith to see us thru. And I say, Mr. Obama, the whole idea of clinging to our faith is because we have the hope of a heavenly home, but until such time as Jesus returns and takes the Christians, or our time on earth is ended and we go to be with God, our faith is what we should hold on to, cling to, and even praising God for that hope. It is the only thing we have and the only thing we need. Christians we need to pray for our country more than ever before; the church is building Rev, Knight a house with over 10,000 square feet, with an elevator, swimming pool and at a cost of over a million dollars to reward him for his minsitry. When he stands before His maker someday, God is not going to ask him how many church members the church has, he is not going to ask if he was a personal friend of a candidate for the Presidency, He is going to ask him, what did you do for Jesus? Did you accept His as your savior? What will his answer be? And to Obama, the people who you condesceningly said we are bitter and cling to our faith; well cling to our faith we will and when we stand before our Maker someday and He has promised us all a mansion that will make Rev. Knight's earthly mansion look cheap by comparison. What a day that will be for those of us who cling to the Old Rugged Cross
Hot Seat: Candidate Reality Check {Politics Daily}
Mar 16th 2008 3:57PM I just perused the comments briefly before starting this comment and see that at least one more person had the same reaction to Bush as I did, there is something about his eyes. Obama intrigued me at first, but when I read he was muslim then I was no longer ingrigued. But this latest thing about his "minister" is just unbelievable. Most Christians who are "possessors of" instead of "professors of" being followers of Christ would have walked out of the church on the first GD America. And don't insult my intelligence Obama, If in the 15 years or so that you have attended that Church and you haven't been there when these hate speeches have been spewed out from the pulpit and you want us to believe that.
And if the Koran is used in any way shape or form by anyone on the podium should he, God forbid, elected President then there should be an outcry from every true American and Congress should be swift in nullifying the validity of his oath, or better yet the Justice who administers the oath should make sure it is a Bible (look inside and make sure they haven't slipped the Koran in it) and it definitely has to be in English, or else how could we be sure it is the Bible. Everyone and I mean everyone who is on the podium that day should be searched for signs of a Koran. Those found with one in their possession or hidden somewher on their bodies should be removed immediately. The Koran has many versions, but just to be sure, all should be disposed of because it espouses that non-muslims are infidels and should be destroyed. Under no circumstances should Rev. Wright be anywhere close to the Podium. We have enough hate mongers in the United States, we certainly do not need Rev Wright in view on Inaguration day especially given his viewpoint of America. If Obama doesn't put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is being played, then those in the room when "Hail To The Chief" is being played should remain seated. As far as I am concerned Obama should be forced out of the race for President if he goes to an institution of worship that is nothing but a front for Black Power. I thought we were all supposed to be pulling together and were ready to change and learn together. If I were a democrat I would not be endorsing Obama; I am not going to vote for Hillary, I am Independent and I am not real sure about McCain except that he has shown a lot of wisdom in his remarks about things that Democrats and Rev. Wright sends his way. God help America if all the "Rev Wrights" and his ilke are more numerous than we thought and we can't duct tape their mouths when they are in public.
