Apr 12th 2009 8:00PM Mike, you have brought up a good point. Why would someone pay $1,000.00 per month rent when they can have a deal like their potential landlord, the musician, had? The author of this blog points out the other side of the coin, that her loss in Detroit is offset by her sons' gain in New Orleans, but the coin can constantly be rotated. If we always look for the "win/win" we can have a reasonable and healthy economy. Perhaps market forces will make rents lower in New Orleans.
