JAY-Z: Smell What the 'Roc' Is Cooking {BV Newswire}

Nov 7th 2007 10:42PM This is a nice idea for Shawn! Similar to Ms. Knowles fragrance, it should be quite marketable. I hope it smells good. I will be sure to buy some.

Adrianne Curry Doesn't Care for BET ... or Blacks {Blackvoices Main}

Nov 7th 2007 10:20PM Is this really all she has to say? She is a good example as to why it is difficult for models to enter into any kind of arena where public speaking is necessary. Her thoughts are flat out dumb. I believe that this one( since color was obviously her only point)needs to be allowed the opportunity to think before she speaks again before anyone.
She should apply for a job as poster child for using racism for publicity and how it doesn't work.

Its obvious that she is out of touch with reality, BET is not the only channel for Blacks...duh!

And by the way, Black History Month does not promote an idea of superiority amongst Blacks... it states openly and publicly that we are proud of who we are. Caucasian American History is obvious, it is in everything that "We" American's do... can anyone say the same about the History of Blacks?

KANYE DROPS KANYE-ISMS IN NEW BOOK {Blackvoices Main}

Nov 6th 2007 9:22AM I am glad to see more artist like myself branching off into writing. All of us have a unique story, and like myself, Self Publishing is not a bad idea. Following after a man as "great" as Sean Carter has got to be a tough undertaking, so I applaud Kanye for doing it big and handling his business. Who knows, he may have just started a new trend for the artist of the ROC... I wish him much success in his book sales.

HALLE BERRY: Back Pedaling Out of Alleged Anti-Semitic Slur {BV Newswire}

Oct 24th 2007 8:11PM On the for real, a joke that she told truly reflects how a person's insecurity can lead to them being offended.

The stereotype: Jewish people have big noses.

Again, you would expect the elite in our society to be the one's able to rise above stereotypes and set the example for the rest of us, after all they are in the public's eye.

AOL... I could use some more stories on Jay-Z, didn't Beyonce teach him some new dance moves or something?

Montel Williams Gets Married ... Again {Blackvoices Main}

Oct 9th 2007 10:12AM First of all, let me be the first to say that Montell looks very handsome in the picture that goes along with this article, the freshly trimmed beard accentuates his pleasant facial features. Second, I am glad that he has the heart and the ability to get married for the third time. Who cares if she is White, Black, or Green...she does it for him. I love to hear about love, read about love, and see people acting on their love.

Grapes of Galilee, Using Jesus To Sell Wine {Luxist}

Oct 9th 2007 10:06AM I feel that Jesus made wine in the Bible, therefore it should not be seen as disrespectful when his face appears on a bottle. However, I feel that the wine should be used for communion. And I believe that a majority of the profit made from this should be donated to a church whose followers worship Jesus.

All Talk, No Action At D.C. Hip-Hop Hearing {Blackvoices Main}

Sep 28th 2007 6:10PM Seriously and on the for real, what in the world is up with this sudden attack on HipHop? First Oprah, then BET, now Congress? The last time I checked, an artist was only a mirror of his or her surroundings...so why is Congress not having hearings on how they can correct the neighborhoods, the unemployment, and the rest of the things that cause these rappers to have something to rap about? This country has a history of blaming music for its lack of accountability. When is Congress going to have a hearing as to why the Church is not able to help correct this so called "evil and negative" art form from spreading its influence to this world? People have been killing, cussing, having sex, and all that other bad stuff since pimpin been pimping...so now all of sudden HipHop is supposed to be the cause? What this country needs to do is realize how some of these studios,attending some of these shows, and the time spent making HipHop music keeps some of us from being on the streets getting into more trouble. Personally, I think its time for somebody to start a massive Public Relations campaign for the positive side of HipHop, portraying it as the cause for societies ill's is becoming kind of played out...for real!
