Ara Macao, Belize's Big New Resort {Luxist}

Sep 28th 2007 3:09PM You report that Ara Macao "...will bring much-needed infrastructure to the area and is turning swamp land into a producing asset for the Belize government through taxes and jobs." You mean it will illegally destroy valuable wetlands and mangrove forests crucial to the health of the coral reef, Belize's crown jewel? Shame on you! And shame on the DOE for ignoring Belize's laws against this sort of destruction.
