Currently the oil industry controls leases on 68 million land and sea acres that they are NOT drilling on.
Maybe we should make them start drilling there before giving them more leases.

That sounds like Patriotism with a little Nationalism thrown in.
"It’s interests" is where it breaks down. A Patriot would not allow his or her government to invade another nation for an "interest". Unless that other country did something bad to us. Like Pear Harbor.
Nationalism is where people believe that their nations philosophies and culture should be forced on other nations. In order to "make them a copy of us".
Patriotism, in America, is standing true to the vision of the Founders.
Life, Liberty, Privacy, Due Process, Religious Freedom
and equality.
The Founders gave us quite a challenge. It takes courage to be a Patriot.

Patriotism is understanding and defending the Constitution, Bill of rights and the amendments.
Patriotism is standing up to Politicians who lie to us, who circumvent the Constitution and use their power to pad the pockets of corporations and themselves.
Patriotism is having the courage to dissent when a President spies on fellow citizens or says "your either with us or against us".
Patriotism is not a flag pin. It is in one's heart.
Patriotism is not a haircut. It is in one's soul.
Patriotism is bigger than any symbol. It is part of one's very existence.

I would recommend that you first evaluate why you, a gay guy, would be a Republican in the first place. The RNC doesn't give a damn about you!
Second, work on thinking up questions that are relevant to this Presidential race.
I beleive Obama is a man of faith. He also does not take PAC or Lobbyist money. I like that.
"W" and Mcain are the fake christians, if there is such a thing.
Both have sucked up to the religious right to get votes. That's all they care about.
I am not afraid to remind you that Reagan/Bush and now "W", will go down in history as the two worst REPUBLICAN administrations in US history.
Both achieved unprecedented national debt and both left us with a recession.
And 2 wars.
Bush 1 left us Somalia. Bush 2 will leave us Iraq.
