Top American Destinations To Avoid In 2013 {Gadling}
Jan 8th 2013 6:39PM I have lived in Los Angeles for 27 years and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Anything you can think of to do is right here. You can go swimming in the ocean and skiing in the mountains on the same day. The food is amazing. The museums are fascinating. The people are, in general, quite nice. Public transportation isn't great but it's getting better. Yes, sometimes you have to brush away a little dirt but the diamond you will find under it is totally worth the effort. Come visit; I'll be your tour guide.
Plan to Build Home on Top of Historic Heard Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ga., Enrages Neighbors {AOL Real Estate}

Plan to Build Home on Top of Historic Heard Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ga., Enrages Neighbors {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 7th 2012 2:11PM Was the cemetery registered as a 501(c)(13) cemetery company? If not, and it was just a privately owned piece of land with some dead people, it was probably not tax exempt, despite what the neighbors say. I am assuming the property was deeded to family members through generations. Whichever one was responsible for it failed to pay the taxes on it. It sounds like the rest of the family was not too concerned with it, either. The current property owner is responsible for moving all the bodies, along with headstones and whatever is left of any coffins, and having them reburied prior to developing the site. He should be able to do so in any local cemetery that has space available, assuming he has the money to do it. That being said, just because he can doesn't mean he should. If he wants the neighbors to hate him, he should proceed with his plans. As a gesture of goodwill, he would be better off donating the land to a cemetery company so it can be properly maintained in perpetuity.

Hotel And Event Hosts Sued By Family Of Girl Killed Sliding Down A Banister {Gadling}
Jul 27th 2012 11:48PM I just did a little research. Megan Duskey had not been at the party very long when the accident happened. The half dozen articles I just read all had something in them about alcohol not being a factor. So this wasn't some drunken accident, it was just a terrible error in judgement. I'm sorry for the loss her family suffered, but it doesn't seem like anyone but Megan Duskey was at fault.
Jail Time for Phoenix Man Who Hosted Bible Study at His Home {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 7th 2012 11:11PM I think the issue is that he does it often (weekly) and it is therefore no longer an occasional gathering. It has become a commercial enterprise, subject to the same zoning laws as any other commercial enterprise.

Jul 7th 2012 10:50PM Newte, you are very wrong. I'm an atheist. I would love to see pedophiles (note the correct spelling) killed after the first offense. As for this guy, he is in violation of the building codes. This has nothing to do with his religious beliefs. He is not above the law.

Jun 11th 2011 10:52AM BS, apparently you have never been to San Fernando. It is one of the poorest areas in Los Angeles. There is a pervasive gang problem and the houses all have bars over the windows. For these kids to NOT be in a gang and to be doing something constructive is pretty great. They probably had to sell a lot of chocolate bars to pay for their uniforms and equipment. Until you know what you are talking about, STFU.
