Girl Who Beat Cancer is Cyber Bullied by Best Friend {ParentDish}

Apr 21st 2011 11:26PM Ammitt, I feel your pain. My bullying was also all from the "elite," and most of the people in authority WOULD take action against them...detention, etc...all it did was make them take revenge on me. Made things worse, when I didn't think it was possible that things could get worse. If I could go back to the person I was back then, I would tell me, "These people are going to cease to have any kind of place in your life in a very short time. School doesn't last forever, and if you don't want to, you don't ever have to talk to them again." As it is, I learned that the hard way, and life is good now. I feel like in the long run, those punks made me a stronger person. But I don't think that they need therapy....and most of them view discipline as a big joke. Hopefully most of them will learn, as my bullies learned, that they won't always be the "important" people. It may make me a "small" person, but I took some satisfaction seeing my former nemesis adrift in the sea of their lack of importance. Life has a funny way of working out most of the time. Good luck man...it really does get better, most of the time.

Apr 21st 2011 11:17PM I'd also like to add that it breaks my heart when a child who is
bullied responds by committing suicide. I mean...really, all that
does is make the bullies feel powerful, AND it deprives the world of a life that might have contributed something truly beautiful. Kids, if
you're being bullied DON'T GIVE THE BULLIES THE SATISFACTION OF TAKING YOUR LIFE!!! It won't make them feel guilty...in fact, they'll probably brag about it. And in most cases, it will break your families' hearts. Stick it out. This time in your life WILL END, andt hese people WILL EXIT your life. Find people to talk to and spend time with to provide a buffer between you and the sick punks who tryto make your life miserable. IT GETS BETTER.

Apr 21st 2011 11:03PM WOW. Bullying unfortunately happens...there's really no way to stop it, and it is unfortunately MUCH easier when kids have unsupervised access to the internet, etc... Also, I was pretty horribly bullied in school, and I really think that bullying is escalating and becoming more and more dangerous and disgusting. For example, this "best friend" was making some pretty sick threats, which make me think she might be a psychopath in the making...at the very least a sociopath! Get that sick kid some HELP...and discipline her while you're at it!!! Justine has been through QUITE enough...but good for her for handling it with grace and dignity. Keep it up, darlin'...it may not help you much NOW...but later in life, it will stand you in good stead.

Don't Love the Rock You've Got? How to Upgrade Your Wedding Ring {Lemondrop}

Dec 5th 2010 8:12PM I agree with you up to a point...my husband asked for my input before the ring-shopping took place. But the final decision was his, and his alone. And I LOVE what he picked out for me...it proved how well he knew me, AND it didn't break the bank...I would have HATED that. The best part is that it matches beautifully with the wedding band that my father had slipped onto my mother's hand 50 years before...and that was totally unplanned!!! Several months after the proposal, my mom asked if I'd like to have it. (My father has passed away.) I thought it was a wonderful omen, and I look forward to spending the next 50 or 60 years with him.

Taylor Swift, Emma Watson and Kirsten Dunst In Black Lace {Stylelist}

Dec 3rd 2010 4:57PM No, Dayna, you're not missing anything. I have no idea what the big deal about Dunst is, either. She was a cute enough child star, and in "Bring it On" I thought she was...fine. But I've never thought she was pretty. None of my guy friends find her attractive either. So I don't get it. She's not pretty enough to be getting by with the level of talent she exhibits...at least in my opinion. Also, she shouldn't even be in the running for who wore the dress better. It looks frumpy and awkward. And I think it would look frumpy and awkward on ANYONE. Again...just my opinion...but I sometimes wonder who is telling these stars that these outfits look good!!! Some celebrities dress for the shock factor, and some are just trying to be different...but this dress is just sad.

Lori Ate What She Wanted and Lost 100 Pounds {That's Fit}

Nov 8th 2010 1:47AM To Leslie: I'm sure Lori could give you some great tips, but as far as exercise goes, I'd start with water stuff. Water aerobics; (I have messed up knees, and I LOVE water aerobics.) swimming; anything water-related. You get the resistance without the achy joints. I'm also a HUGE fan of the elliptical machine. You also might splurge on a personal trainer. Yes, they are often sadistic torturers (LOL) but most of them are good about teaching you how to get the maximum out of your workout, AND how to do everything healthily. That's the biggie. BE SAFE, BE HEALTHY.

Lori Ate What She Wanted and Lost 100 Pounds {That's Fit}

Nov 8th 2010 1:42AM Well then Lori, DOUBLE the kudos to you!!! I am 5'5'', and an actress, so my weight needs tend to fluctuate...though I wouldn't want to take a role that required me to reach an unhealthy weight. Having said all that, I've been around 140, and I don't think I looked as good as you do! You've got great curves, and you look wonderful. (I'm at my healthiest and happiest around 125-130, but that has a little to do with where I carry my weight, too.) Also...did the poster to whom I was responding delete his comment? It's none of my business, but I WAS responding to a question about the skin. Anyway, keep on doing what you're doing. You are on a "diet" that we could ALL follow, and it has proven to be best for me, too. B/c I LOVE food, so for me it was all about portion control and exercise, too. ;-) You look wonderful, and you're an excellent role model. More young people should read your blog to get a healthier attitude about food and exercise. XO

Lori Ate What She Wanted and Lost 100 Pounds {That's Fit}

Nov 7th 2010 2:42PM Marilyn, I haven't read all of Lori's blogs, though she probably does let people know her height somewhere. Going strictly by her photo, I'm going to assume she's somewhere between 5'4'' and 5'7''. I could be completely wrong, but that's my guess.

Lori Ate What She Wanted and Lost 100 Pounds {That's Fit}

Nov 7th 2010 2:36PM I wonder that myself any time I read about someone losing so much weight. Since she lost the weight over such a long period of time, the skin may have retained enough elasticity to shrink back. Often the REAL problem comes when a large amount of weight is lost very very quickly. It's why some new mommies, in spite of losing the baby-weight and doing muscle training, still have some tummy skin that just won't go back. My guess would be that Lori, by virtue of taking her time, gave her skin plenty of time to keep up with her new shape.

Nov 7th 2010 1:22PM Oh my, aren't "Bigdickdaddy" and "JAY" super-swell guys? Look boys, this is CLEARLY not your type of forum, and I'm guessing that you're just bored and trying to start something. Ladies and gentlemen who ARE on this forum for a REAL reason, don't give them the validation they seem so desperately to need. *rolling eyes* OH! And go on and say whatever you want to about ME, b/c I won't be reading or responding to what you so bravely write from the safety of your computer. Lori, congratulations for taking control of your health. You look beautiful.
