At least he comes home to you every day after his golf game. My husband died shortly after he retired. We had no wonderful retirement time together. My so-called "golden years" are now spent taking care of my aging mother. Be grateful that you are not a widow.

Nov 4th 2010 11:28PM It's funny the things you remember as a kid. My favorite store was Woolworths. You could walk in there blindfolded and know by the smell of the store that it was Woolworths. Had a very distinctive, nice smell. I also miss the White Tower restaurants that had the best twenty-five cent burgers in town. The White Towers were always brightly lit and sparkling clean.

Nov 1st 2010 11:23PM I have two sons who were also very close when they were children, even though they have totally different personalities. The oldest is very serious, got a college degree, has a family, and now has a successful career in banking. The younger son partied his way through college for 2 years and got an associate degree. He got a job with a large company working on an assembly line. The few serious relationships he had with women didn't last because of his partying and gambling. The job on the assembly line didn't last either because of the recession. He lost his home and car, and had to file bankruptcy. My sons live in different parts of the country, so there is no real closeness any more. However, they do get along on the few occasions when they are together, in spite of their differences. They are both good sons, but a mother must realize that once they are grown, they become their own individuals.

Oct 31st 2010 11:55PM I always thought Shanahan was a great coach when he was with the Denver Broncos. The team of him and Elway worked and earned them back-to-back Superbowl wins. But once Elway was gone, Shanahan seemed to be gone too. Now he is screwing up the Redskins the same way McDaniels is screwing up the Broncos. What a shame.

Sep 21st 2010 11:46PM Of course the table games are rigged and the dealers know all the tricks. On a cruise ship, there is no state gaming commission regulating the games. Any thing goes to get the poor suckers money. Very sad that he couldn't control his urge to beat the odds, which were against him from the start. The first time I played blackjack, I was dealt 2 face cards. Thought it was great, until the dealer turned up with 21. After a few rounds, I once again was dealt 2 face cards and once again the dealer had 21. The third time this happened, I quit and have never played blackjack again.

Aug 26th 2010 11:47PM The worst customer from hell I've seen was a lady in a Safeway store in Denver who opened a sealed jar of pickles, sniffed at them and then put them back on the shelf for some unsuspecting customer. Disgusting!!!
