Jan 11th 2011 9:55AM I think you are missing the point. I'm a social worker and I see this prob all the time. I get if your kid is sick but most times they're not. It's not a situation of it being a 1 x thing. Most parents whose kid is usually sick contacts the school. These parents don't. It ends up falling on us all where their to damn dumb to get a job or missed to many days to even graduate. I see so many sitting home playing vid games, going to bed late, watching their siblings or just don't feel like going.Or don't have kids if you don't have time to parent. Usually all the kids in the home end up missing many days of school. As for the person saying they missed 56 days of school proves the govt's. point. How as a parent you DON"T know. Do you not check homework? Check notebooks to see class work? Gotten a call from school or check report cards? Or even go to parent/teacher meetings? Better yet call school to check on child. Do not wait until school has to call you. It's nice to know even when your child is doing well in school. So if you want govt's out your business BE A DAMN PARENT!!STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!

As someone posted pots give off bad things for your health justas most things we use do. If it isn't for you then do not use it. Funny i bet most who posted that either smoke,drink, use chemicals to clean in homes, drive etc. I hope you do not eat out because as a chef in 1 of my many past professions restaurants use micros also just as fast food places.

Aug 31st 2009 1:19AM thi is not about liking or dislking the the celeb but i have to agree beyonce needs to stick to dancing and singing. and im far from a 'hater'. shes like the new madonna. great with her other talents but lack acting skills and mariah isnt far behind. i mean damn how do you fail at acting out that your a singer hmmm.from the trailer ive seen of the movie 'precious' she alright. but thats prob, cuz shes not the top star nor is it a spot for her to over act being sexy. i doubt very much that she was able to act 'diva-ish' on the set. thats the prob with some of thee movies. these celebs want to take over the set and direct everything cuz their in it with their ' do you know who i am and this is my movie ' ways. then it fails. yes some make money off the flick but thats because fans of thiers go. its damn sure not for the acting ability. the past comment was right. sad the folks with talent get get breaks yet these no talented celebs get top spots along with their friends and no talent family memebers. case in point PARIS HILTON.CANT SING NOR CAN SHE ACT. WHAT A WASTE OF A SPOT.

Jul 25th 2008 2:28AM i think we need to make children or their planet liable for things they do. we make so many excuses for them that they really feel they are entitled to do things no matter hom it hurts cuz they feel justified.their parents not wanting to do their job has spoiled them and we all have to pay for it. like the case of the student who made a myspace page pretending to be his principle and saying he was into young men. now lawyers and parents say dont punish just get him counselling.so while folks say kids dont no any better they damn sure know enuff to do this tech stuff that some intelligent grown ups cant. what many people dont realize you dont even have to belong to their sites for your info to get out. i joined a famous persons fan club to get purchased advance tix and now when i googled my name all my info i pposted to my account can be seen. ive joinded sites just to see what they were about and when i googled that showed also. even asking microsoft about a comp problem showed up, even sites i searched in general kept my screen name.so it doesnt matter if its my space, your space or what ever space. the internet has become such a dangerous place.ive had friends whom had cell phones hacked (which i consider to be personal property ) and info posted online. folks can take a pic of u as ur walking and post it on sites and nothing you can do. i dont like the govt getting involved in anything but this is one of those things where as some of us need to use it for work or research that people should be liable for the harm they cause others.

Mar 15th 2008 5:56AM i think this is a good thing. the stars shouldn't feel bad. it shows they have flaws to. and flaws can make you unique or even add to beuty. but i think it helps for these young kids these days to knwo all that you see with stars isn't alwys whats really going on. so stop trying to look like them. even better for men to stop telling their women they need to look good as so and so does when so and so doesn't even look so perfect themselves

Mar 4th 2008 2:44PM while i think politicians worrying about war is important but also things such as feeding your family is just as much. govt always want to be in your biz except when it comes to things like this. how the heck is ok for these prices for necessary things can get so high. little business are going to be shut down, familys can't buy food. i live in nyc also and it still cost to much to make these things from scratch. when tomatoes are 3.99 lb and most times are rotten. damn if i could grow my own i would but thats the price i pay for living in an apt.

Feb 11th 2008 9:06PM i think that we should just warn everyone we are in contact with. i know to many people especially older folks who are nor aware of these email things. all they do is chat and dont read up on these scams and they get caught up. so if you have to just mention it in passing arounf family gatherings or just make convo it should be done. i have a friend right now whos mom doesnt speak english well and she is sending some man money every month and this man has told her dont tell her family cuz the family doesnt want them together. im even noticing im getting them on my cell phone also. thats because when someone eneters these sites and they swear they dont do 3rd party selling and you add your info they start texting you and now my niece asked on text who is this and with that they pinged my cell and text over 150 people and i almost got stuck with the bill
