Bentley commissions luxury train from London to Crewe {Autoblog}

Nov 10th 2008 8:52AM For accuracy go to http://www.trainchartering.com/news_trainsplanes.html#trainsplanes

"...Bentley is now considering going full time with the train service to bring customers up to the factory from London to specify their trim and color options." is not correct.

The event was for Bentley's dealers, and despite the current trend to slam every form of corporate hospitality, the cost per head was comparable to 'ordinary' first class rail travel.

Even in these 'everyone deserves to be the boss' times, it is reasonable to travel first class in a train if you deal in or drive Bentleys!

Luxury train travel in the U.S. a bust? Train cars for sale {Gadling}

Sep 30th 2008 12:24PM Luxury train travel has a small but important role to play in any country with a reasonably developed rail network - and so should be successful in the USA with a properly considered route / service offer.
Why did GrandLuxe fail? Perhaps it overextended itself; I remember a proud but perhaps understandable boast that they had managed a journey on every day of the year.
It is not just hindsight to say that I would have begun services with a modest brochure, and waited for trains to be running at capacity before adding to it.
In any event, I hope that some entrepreneur can see the beenfit in investing in perhaps the best cars to offer some brochured trips as well as providing them for private charter to corporations or individuals.

The Great Brazil Express, Brazil's New Luxury Train {Luxist}

Apr 21st 2008 4:30AM This is novel - a small private self-propelled luxury train with just two carriages. In fact they are separately mobile and can be hired individually for yet smaller groups, for of course a higher per person cost. The Great (little) Brazil Express adds more variety to the widening range of luxury trains around the world!

China Plans Luxury Train Ride To Tibet {Luxist}

Mar 11th 2008 8:27AM Deidre,
This is an exciting development in the world of luxury trains - the Tangula, being ultra-modern, hyper-luxury trains are different from many luxury trains, which are generally either heritage or in the style of heritage.

Today in Second Life - Monday 24 September, 2007 {Second Life Insider}

Sep 25th 2007 12:09PM You know what will massively increase sign-ups? Tapping into a RL interest with many adherents. FOr example, one i know is the rail industry and its many millions of rail fans around the world. Fact is every coutnry with a railway (and many that do not) have many thousands, and often ten of thousands, of committed rail fans. There are also many millions of rail travelers and this number is increasing.
If SL had a cross-world rail system that supported scheduled train services for free riding and perhaps the ability to have private trains for fare-paying passengers - then many tens of thousands of rail fans would have a real interest in signing up.
Who can i speak to in SL to develop this? FYI www.trainchartering.com, www.soundwaveexpress.com & www.therailmall.com is about us in RL.
