James P. Hoffa voices contempt for Wall Street {BloggingStocks}
Nov 16th 2008 9:17AM "Ronald Reagan's rhetoric on trade was about as good as you can imagine," says economist William Niskanen of the Cato Institute, "but his record on trade was terrible." Niskanen should know, having served as chairman of Reagan's council of economic advisers. Reagan imposed quotas on steel imports, pressured Japan to "voluntarily" restrict auto shipments to the United States, tightened limits on foreign textiles, accepted new barriers to imported sugar, gave special protection to Harley-Davidson, raised duties on shakes and shingles, and negotiated a deal with Japan to force up domestic semiconductor prices. "For the first time since World War II," noted Niskanen in his 1988 book Reaganomics, "the United States added more trade restraints than it removed." To find an administration with a worse record on free trade, you have to go back to another Republican—Herbert Hoover.

Senior Discount! Dodge offers employee pricing to AARP members {Autoblog}
Nov 13th 2008 3:25AM Employee pricing? I didn't know they had any employees left on the payroll. If I couldn't beat the employee price by at least $1000 I wouldn't even talk to a dealer.........my last Chrysler product .....hmmmm.......in the 70's! A 1972 Dodge ...the dashboard caught on fire with 3000 miles on the car ....and a 1977 Dodge truck which required an engine rebuild with 40,000 miles. Why haven't I given them another chance! My bad.

Wal-Mart drops electronics prices, but is anyone falling for it? {BloggingStocks}
Nov 3rd 2006 4:44PM Hmmm...messy shelves...lines too long...I shop at Walmart frequently....3x per week..and only find the shelves messy on Sunday night after the hoards of shoppers have left them depleted of items! Long lines..shorter than any other store in the area..Krogers, Randalls, etc! Oh well..another Walmart Hater at work! As for all the whining about Walmart's treatment of it's employees...Kroger wouldn't hire them...Safeway..Albertson's..Dillards, Macy's...Toy's R Us...etc.. wouldn't hire most of them...so Walmart gives them a job and you act like they adopted them! If it's so bad go to another retailer for work...right! Buy your TV at Best Buy!
Why do I keep thinking Dr. Z is a phony? {AdJab}
Aug 12th 2006 6:09AM The ads are great...but after two MB's..the last a S430..which spent too much of it's life w/ me in the shop..I'll stick w/ Lexus for reliability! He is a natural actor! Too bad MB lowered it's standards to Chrysler's instead of raising Chrysler's to the pre merger standards of MB. Funny guy!
Big hybrids sitting on dealer lots... {Autoblog}
Mar 22nd 2006 10:44AM The Honda Accord Hybrid was mentioned as getting 28 - 31 mpg. I have a 3 month old Lexus GS 300 that gets 30+ highway and is averaging 26.5 mpg in Houston Texas city driving. The hybrid initial cost is hard to recover w/ mpg as poor as the Honda Accord.
