Rough Diamonds Becoming More Popular In Jewelry {Luxist}
Aug 2nd 2007 5:44PM There is a certain mystique with rough diamonds and I understand why people will want to own one. I can vividly remember the first time I held one in my hand at a diamond cutting demonstration in our families store nearly ten years ago. My family and I were so facinated with the rough diamond crystal that we bought a piece to display alongside our polished diamonds. Clients till this day are intrigued by that "little piece of rock".
And to all of you who saw the "Blood Diamond" movie, It is a good idea to ask your jeweler where his diamonds come from. Make him show you a chain of warranties. If he can't don't buy from that store. Our industry is by no means perfect but we have done a lot to stem the flow of conflict diamonds to less than 1% by the Kimberely Process adopted in 2003.
