GM sells just 281 Chevy Volts in February, Nissan only moves 67 Leafs *UPDATE {Autoblog Green}

Mar 1st 2011 10:10PM This is only a problem if they've got any Volts or Leafs sitting on lots waiting to be purchased. As I understand it, that's not happening at all. So, it's not a problem at all, unless people waiting to buy one or the other decide instead to buy some gas guzzling SUVs.

GM displeased over Chevy Volt's poor Green Car Book ranking {Autoblog Green}

Feb 23rd 2011 10:42PM 1) These guys need to watch the oscar-nominated movie "Gasland" and then rethink the tie between the Nissan Leaf and the Honda Civic GX.

2) These guys are morons. The Smart versus the Prius needs to take into account functionality. The Smart is the least environmentally friendly car per passenger on that list. They need to deal with that. How do you consider weight without efficiency? If weight is such an issue (as a proxy for resources used) why not put motorcycles on the list?

3) This list has pissed me off so much I can't even go on.

Toyota: Prius will be "the number one nameplate in the industry" by 2020 {Autoblog Green}

Jan 4th 2011 9:58PM I love my 2010 Prius. But I'd rather have a Nissan Leaf having driven both cars. 'Course, if I win the megamillions lottery tonight, I can get a Tesla instead.

Nov 30th 2010 11:10PM The Leaf is going to drink this car's milkshake.

I like the looks of this, I saw it at the LA Autoshow. But My Prius gets way better mpgs, and has more room to haul stuff. If this car got 42mpg and did a sub 6 second 0-60 time, then maybe it might have something.

The CT 200h his is like the CRZ. It's a "performance" "hybrid" but I put them in quotes separately because neither really perform, and neither get great gas mileage. You'd think they'd try to get one or the other right, but it seems like Honda and Lexus are compromising on both.

Report: Chevrolet Volt dealer demos not coming until February {Autoblog Green}

Oct 29th 2010 8:25PM or is the plural of Leafs Leaves?

It's like Prius/Prii all over again.

Report: Chevrolet Volt dealer demos not coming until February {Autoblog Green}

Oct 29th 2010 8:23PM Not exactly true.

I drove a Nissan Leaf last weekend. They had at least 10 Leafs on hand for people to drive at the Westfield Mall in Century City -- and they'd done the same thing at the Alt Car Expo in Santa Monica a weekend or two before that. They must have had 100s of people test driving the thing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They've got a lot of these events scheduled.

They had a huge display set up, multiple portable rooms that taught people about different aspects of the car, and then a little course around Century City you could drive. They warned us that just because we were test driving doesn't mean we couldn't get tickets, but that we were still encouraged to push the cars hard.

The Leaf was almost fun to drive. At least compared to the 2010 Prius I have. Not compared to say, an M3.

I didn't like the Leaf all that much before driving it. After driving it, I really liked it. I'll probably wait for the Infiniti version, but I'm definitely seeing less of a reason to spend the $$$ on the Fisker I have on order right now.

Score a 2011 Nissan Leaf for just $12,280? It's possible {Autoblog Green}

Oct 25th 2010 4:43PM I don't know many "middle-upper" class people that would buy the Leaf. They'll likely wait until the Infiniti version. Most "middle-upper" class folks are probably waiting for the Fisker Karma or Tesla Model S. (Well, okay, some of 'em will probably get one of these too while they're waiting.)

I finally got a chance to drive a Leaf, and I got to say -- I liked driving it better than my 2010 Prius. I regret not putting a deposit down on it.

Shh. Mercedes does the same thing quietly as well. They call their interior MBtech. Good luck trying to find info about that, though.

@ Weather316

I care because I'd consider driving a Volt. Just because I have a 2010 Prius and a Fisker Karma on order doesn't mean I don't also consider buying a Leaf or a Volt... or a Tesla Roadster for that matter.

I've come very close to buying a roadster, but buying a car that expensive would mean I could only have one car. The Fisker is more practical than the Roadster, but the Volt is similar and costs $40k less. Don't think for a second I don't know what else I could do with that $40k difference.
