Jan 23rd 2011 3:54PM I'm ashamed that GROWN adults are considering telling a child to get in a fight to defend themselves!
It is wrong to hit people- as adults, we report these matters to authorities and get the heck out of them. We should NOT be teaching our children any differently.
You send them to school for their education. While you do all you can to ensure their education, if the school fails to actively protect their students- yes, at all costs you protect your child. FIND a school that does not allow it, or that is small enough to actively control it.
It is important children remain eager to learn, and enjoy their school experience and we have to maintain that. We also have to raise them to be good citizens when they grow up, which does NOT include hitting other people, that is a standard below successful and intolerable in adulthood.

Oct 26th 2010 12:14AM Trip to Idaho- afraid of heights already, but I fly often enough. We were on a TINY plane, apparently- so tiny, our luggage was detoured to Missourri somewhere they said. It was 2 days, freezing in our FL clothes in the snow before we were told to pick up our luggage. We had to get the key, from the office hidden on property & break in (their instructions). THEN, the airline cancelled my seats- saying, they never showed ME (who called about my luggage) arriving. We had to bus over to another airport because this one was snowed in. My 2 & 7 year olds were no longer seated by me, so on our red eye flights- we had to fight agents to seat my 2 year old with me instead of a stranger. They weren't pleasant. I broke my wrist learning to ski. Flipped the snow-mobile WITH my 2 year old on it with me- throwing him in the snow to save him. I wasn't so lucky though. Our keys to our vehicle- were ripped from our luggage on the return flight. We were forced to go home and leave our car, and since being on a red eye flight, we elected to sleep before getting it, car was towed from the lot we had parking in- construction. When I asked the airline to refund our flight- due to all this, they said they would and 6 months later, said they weren’t going to, I never got any resolution.

Sep 30th 2010 11:00PM I will be a football player- we have TONS of costumes for the boys, but few for hubby & I. So, I have to get 'creative' and this year, I'm taking my oldest ones football gear & hubbies jersey!
