It looked great, and word was that Chrysler was going ahead with plans to build and sell it.
The Diablo resembled the Miata somewhat.

Jan 27th 2011 1:24PM Why didn't VW just return to its roots with the Beetle and bring back the original Bug with rear air cooled engine and all the safety/emission requirements necessary.
I'm sure that IS possible!
That sure would have been a knockout, and truly cool retro.
This new design just doesn't cut it, speaking for myself.
From the looks of the comments here I'm not alone with what I say concerning the new design.

Purple metallic, with lots of flake in the mix.
