Why the market is taking Warren Buffett's advice {BloggingStocks}

Oct 18th 2008 9:40AM As my name implies I am a Buffett fan, although I have no privileged knowledge of what Warren Buffett is doing, so I would reiterate what has been said by JL - Warren Buffett says it's a good time to buy, but he didn't say what he has been buying. He is very careful about what he invests in and I would be extremely surprised if he was investing in companies that had even the remotest possibility of going bust.
In addition, he invests for the long-term, he says himself he has no idea what stock markets will do over the next year, his time horizon is 5 years and beyond.
He also stopped buying on Thursday when the DOW started heading back up, he was buying when the DOW was around 8200. Personally I suspect the DOW will fall a bit further but Warren Buffett is not particularly interested in timing things exactly right.
One thing I would say however is that he is a wily old fox and having bought equities for the first time in years it is quite possible that he would like to encourage more people to join him, thus possibly giving support to his own buying- just a thought. http://www.theoracleofomaha.com

Option Update: Google April volatility elevated at 50 {BloggingStocks}

Mar 27th 2008 1:33PM It seems to me Google is determined to shoot itself in both feet. It is constantly initiating new policies re. website advertising that are having the effect of driving people out of the Adworks/Adsense market. Ostensibly these measures are designed to improve advertising return for advertisers but they will in fact lead to a reduction in the numbers of domains being registered as it becomes more and more difficult to justify registering domains which are no longer profitable.

Whole Foods CEO determined to do himself in -- electronically {BloggingStocks}

Jul 12th 2007 1:03PM I can't believe Mackey believes what he did was just 'fun' ! People lose money on the stockmarkets because of such 'fun' - not to mention the whole monopoly question and keeping prices high for his 'customers'. Totally unbelievable - as I wrote in my blog this morning - http://www.sharescity.com/2007/07/ceo-john-mackey-posted-on-financial.html - can he be sued by shareholders for what he did ? I would be furious if I had lost money because of his underhand actions.

Why is Seth Godin not talking about the Squidoo problem? {The Jason Calacanis Weblog}

Jul 7th 2007 3:56PM I recently (26th June) wrote a post on my blog about Squidoo with a rather provocative title and to my surprise Seth Godin actually took the time to respond. I find Squidoo strange and incomprehensible but I have recently decided to give it another go (still without much success) . If you want to see my post and Seth Godin's response you will need to go here - http://www.netmonetization.com/2007/06/squidoo-bucks-or-squidoo-sucks.html

I will be writing an update in a week or two to see if there has been any change.
