Behind the Olympics: Where are all of India's medals? {Gadling}
Aug 18th 2008 6:06PM As an Indian who was born and grew up most of his life in India I can say that its predominantly a combination of #3 and #5.
The primary individual goal is to enable the offspring to earn money in order to support their families. This is largely due to unplanned families and out of control population.
However this attitude is changing at large. Kids are more and more interested in sports, but largely to cricket as there is lot of money there. Other sports are largely ignored for the most part.
I am sure over next 10 or 20 years this will change much and we will see more involvement and success.
Rogue Amoeba on code signing, iPhone SDK {TUAW.com}
Mar 11th 2008 2:56PM I agree with the concern. I am drawing similarities between Apple and the carriers. These restrcitions are creating the walled garden with Apple being the sole gatekeeper.
We need a system where users are the ultimate decision makers.
Check out my thoughts here.

Sep 26th 2007 11:30AM I agree that the experience sucks. I cover a similar pain in my post here:

Amazon can only succeed if they enable direct downloads to my iPod/iTunes. Otherwise they will miss out on the large iPod user base.

Sep 17th 2007 3:08PM Great! Now just hand me a XBOX controller and I will drive my car in 3rd person view.
Not to mention that I can take it on sweet jumps, StuntMan style.
NBC hits back at Apple, claims it didn't want more money {Engadget}
Sep 2nd 2007 2:00PM This is becoming quite a catfight. NBC now says that they did to explore alternative biz models. This is a growing trend among media entities. I am sure more content producers will go down this route. Apple does have a monopolistic position in the online media commerce, which is not conducive to these media entities.
Also this will allow alternative business models and may make content cheaper for us consumers. Universal did the same.

Aug 31st 2007 2:56AM This is getting pretty bad. I am surprised to see even Nokia jump in with the rip-off.

Aug 29th 2007 10:39AM This makes sense. I am surprised that the Andy Rubin angle hasnt been spoken of until now. Google acquired them nearly 3 years ago...

Sprint's XOHM WiMAX service gets official {Engadget}
Aug 16th 2007 10:07PM I cannot wait to get my hands on the new data cards and the devices they would launch. I am sure Apple will be very disappointed to have chosen the EDGE over WiMax.
