American Idol: The Final Showdown {AOL TV}
May 24th 2006 8:27AM I am still not sure about Kat. If she wins, it will be based on her one great song "Over the Rainbow". I find her shrill many times, and when she tries to hard, it can be like nails on a chalkboard.....way too high and screechy. It's when she sings low and quietly that she nails it but like so many others (call it the Mariah-syndrome) she feels the need to do all these vocal acrobatics that she really cannot handle. Her last song was painful, I found myself lowering the volume because it was beginning to hurt my ears. Also, to me there's a spark missing with her. Kelly Clarkson had it but with Kat, she just kind of leaves me cold. So go Taylor.....I loved his last song, even though it was cheesy. But his voice and genuine talent made it great.
American Idol: Nooooooooooooooo! {AOL TV}
May 11th 2006 5:12PM You Chris fans seem to forget that he was in the bottom 3 a couple of weeks ago. That should have been a wake up call to him to stop singing like he's freakin' falling asleep. Show some life. Smile when people talk to you, act a little bit humble and quit seeming like you deserve our votes for just showing up. I cannot believe these people who are starting petitions and all the people yakking on that the show is fixed. Oh wait...these are the same morons who said that the reason Chris was in the bottom 3 that week was because he was the first singer to perform that night. You Chris fans have an excuse for everything. Maybe people just got tired of looking at his sour-puss face and watching him strut like he deserved our votes. And for the petition people...you are all in serious need of a life.

May 11th 2006 4:50PM Bye Chris....see your generic, bland, boring, heard-it-all-before wussy brand of "rock" in the half-off bins at WalMart.
American Idol: Elliott & Elvis are BFF {AOL TV}
May 10th 2006 12:57PM Just check out the hundreds of Elvis tribute cds and you'll find hundreds of women doing beautiful renditions and interpretations of the songs he made famous. So let's quit with the "poor Katharine, having to sing Elvis songs which were written for a guy to sing". That's the lamest excuse for a bad performance I've heard since Chris' fans blamed his being the first to sing for his being in the bottom 3 a few weeks ago. Elvis sang the songs the way he sang them and Katharine could have interpreted the songs any way she wanted. She seemed unprepared and nervous and why she could not do an amazing version of "Can't Help Falling in Love With You" is beyond me. That is a beautiful song no matter whether a guy or girl sings it. Stop blaming Katharine's being a female for having a bad night. That's not saying much about her. It's saying she's too young and inexperienced to take a famous song sung by a male and make it her own. And if you think that, then she really does not deserve the crown of American Idol in the first place.

May 10th 2006 9:21AM There have been plenty of female singers who have covered Elvis songs beautifully. "Hound Dog" was originally recorded by a female, Big Mama Thornton so for Kat's fans to blame her poor performances on the fact that she is a female singing "male" songs is just a pathetic excuse. How come none of you said anything when she sang great versions of Stevie Wonder songs, or Barry Manilw or Rod Stewart? A great singer should be able to tackle most types of music, certainly they should not be limited by whether a guy or girl sang it first. Katherine performed poorly because she was nervous, unfocused and inattentive. And like Simon said she was over the top and shrill. Sometimes there's no other reason for a bad performance other than a bad performance. I could see no reason why she could not pull of Can't Help Falling in Love. That song is not gender specific....she had every chance to nail it and failed. And not because she's a girl singing Elvis. She failed because she failed, pure and simple.
Oscar Best and Worst Dressed {Luxist}
Mar 7th 2006 8:45AM Uma Thurman looked absolutely gorgeous, from the dress to her hair...she was flawless. I thought Nicole Kidman looked amazing too. I also loved Michelle Williams whole look, very retro glamorous. Naomi Watts should fire her stylist for that awful, baggy unflattering mess she had on. And while I do agree that Jennifer Aniston looked fine, I was hoping for her to surprise us all with something different and memorable. This is the Oscars, a time to shine fashion-wise and I just thought she looked the same as always. Not offensive, not inoffensive, just dull.

Mar 6th 2006 8:37AM I agree with the negative reviews of Naomi Watts' dress. She is such a beautiful woman but this dress did her no favors. It looked like she had no bust or waist because of all the shredded, puffy stuff in the middle and she looked pale and haggard because of the color. My pick for best dressed was Nicole Kidman....simple, beautiful dress, simple hairstyle. She looked beautiful and classy. Most boring would go to Jennifer Aniston. Why does she always choose the same style of dress and why does she always go with the same hairstyle she had while on "Friends"?
