Nov 20th 2010 10:00AM Ever since they started looking for 'The Next Food Network Star', they lost my respect. The two producers who run that search show are out for show business. Food Network is too big for its britches, it thinks it's in Hollywood. IMO cooking is not a sport, nor is it really entertainment. The latter happens by happy accident of the instructor's personality. The former is a misinterpretation of the fact that cooking can be very hard work. I dislike cooking competitions with a passion, even any form of Iron Chef. IMO, people like that for the wrong reasons, and will become bored with them for the same reasons. The artificial competition created by TFN is just plain stoopid. The 'instruction' has become secondary to the cult of personality, making TFN pretty much unwatchable these days.

If a man won't honestly discuss his unhappiness with his wife and give his marriage a chance, then he's not interested in proceeding. Women who actively chase married men only get responses from the jerks among them. It behooves a wife to ensure her husband is happy and keep the dialog open. She can only hope he will be honest with her, nothing, nothing is guaranteed in a marriage or any other relationship.

I went of Psych bec my parents said medicine would be too expensive to study (I wanted to be a doctor). I switched to business, but that didn't help. I made the most money in my career with computer technical support, something I learned on the job, and parlayed into my own 'consulting' business, where I hired other people to work as temporary workers for businesses. Screw college. It's an expensive waste of time we have been led like sheep to believe is necessary. "Oh, if we don't keep up with the brains in the rest of the world, we won't be able to compete!". BALONEY. In what has the rest of the world taken the lead? Manufacturing and customer service. You don't need a college degree to do that, not even to start and run either of those businesses. You don't even need a degree to become a financial wizard and rob the rest of us blind. You only need one if you don't have the guts to start your own company and insist on being a paid slave for some nitwit.
