Apr 11th 2009 7:25PM Who cares about the American automobile industry? You sure better! Are you staking your country's future on a foreign country? If the American auto industry goes down we will see a major depression in this country that would make the Great Depression look like a blip. Service industries will go down in droves. People will be out of work in all aspects of society. If it takes the U.S. government buying a few thousand vehicles then I say get 'em now while they're still making 'em.

Jan 23rd 2009 11:03AM Perhaps, Tom, you should visit one of the hundreds of PT Cruiser shows and events held each year. You'd find owners in their teens right on through into their 80's who not only show up to show their cars but drive them daily year 'round as well. Ugly being in the eye of the beholder, I think the "cookie cutter" bubble cars that every manufacturer copies from each other, are the ugly cars. The "NEW" Chrysler C200 car that someone commented that there are actually designers still working at Chrysler. No, there are designers that can copy another design and stick some badges on it to call it their own. The PT Cruiser, I've owned 4, is a marvel of utilized space. Take out the rear seats and I've hauled 8 foot boards in it. Flip the rear package shelf upright and you have built in shopping bag holders. There's enough leg room for 5 full grown adults to sit comfortably. It's one of the most fun cars I've ever driven and that includes the venerable 67 GTO. My turbo convertible beats the GTO of that year out of the box at the drag strip and will toast 5 litre Mustangs head to head. Next time look into it before you mouth off about something you obviously know nothing about.
