I consider Obama a Socialist (which I have fought all my life)
However, I have a grand daughter and it is an easy choice for me to prefer her to live under socialism then to die in the nuclear war that McCain wants to engage us in. The "base" which Republicans refer to is no longer "fiscal conservatives" such as Goldwater and Reagan, it is Christian Zionists who really believe that if we start wars against all Muslim Middle Eastern countries we can start the "end times" in which the rest of us are blown up but the "born agains" will fly up to heaven with Jesus.
Our country has already been socialized by the buyout caused by corporate greed and an administration that supported that greed. We now have one choice. Either vote for a man, even thought he is too left of center for my taste, that has expressed a deep desire for peace in the world or a man that never stops talking about fighting, has as much as promised to bomb Iran, and who single handedly denied MIA families any information on their loved ones by refusing to open "the Vietnam files".
More scary then McCain is of course Sarah Palin. The odds of McCain dying in office are great and should he be elected and die, it wouldn't be a woman running the country it would be a genuine "bimbo"
I don't see Obama as "the Great Black Hope" I don't care what color he is, we are in very desperate times and I see him as "Our Only Hope"

Jun 9th 2007 7:31AM Pictures of her in her tee shirt that reads "I am Paris Hilton and I can do anything I want" have been seen around the world. Now this has gone around the world. This one woman has done more to hurt America then any other UNELECTED American has ever done.
Just substitute the word American for Paris and think about it. Innocent civlians are dying not only in Iraq but some are starving in America and a woman who has never used her money to help anyone is screaming and crying over spending a few days in a clean jail cell.
By the way those who are screaming the punishment was unjust should know that Robert Downey Jr. spent 113 days in prison in 1998 for violation of probation.
