Mar 30th 2010 9:53AM Flagship does not mean best of breed or highest quality when used to speak about a product (in my experience). Perhaps when refering to a flagship store, but when dealing with a product a flagship product is most importantly the biggest product - that which the brand uses to define itself. Crown Royal, though they make significantly nicer and pricier options, uses the basic Crown Royal as its flagship product.
Same thing with Johnny Walker - if I order it somewhere straight, I assume I will be getting black, and would be annoyed to see them pouring me Red - and surprised to see them pouring me any of the others (and scared for my wallet).
