Chateau Latour 2000

Chateau Latour 2000 (3 of 4)

Chateau Latour is a wine that can start slowly and then takes off like a rocket. It is always profound with many layers of taste, a real reflection of the heart of Pauillac. Latour is famous for producing impressive wine in more modest vintages, but it knows how to seize great vintages and make them monuments. This vintage is "Archetypal Pauillac nose," says Serena Sutcliffe, Worldwide Head of Wine at Sotheby's. "So much cocoa and coffee plus immensely opulent fruit. Such great freshness at the end. So succulent. An unqualified success." 10 lots consisting of 12 bottles each will be sold. The pre-sale estimate is US$10,000 to US$15,000 per lot. Sotheby's 12/11/10
