Robert Polacek: We want the guests to come in and immediately be comforted, and we want them to take what they've seen on the street and reinterpret it, understand it, and be inspired by it. New York is very inspiring. We wanted to make a refuge where it's very relaxing, very comfortable, and not make it too theatrical or feminine -- when people think of The Muse [the adjoined hotel], they think of the classic form. We wanted more of the modern muse, so we added things like the video art. 15/05/09
