Tibi Leather Skirt

Featuring a leather skirt now that Summer has officially ended and while designers and retailers are getting us ready to shop for the Fall may seem untimely, but the Tibi Leather Skirt ($585) is an eye catching transitional piece. Although the calendar may say Summer is over, we still have a few more weeks of 'showing-off-my-toned legs' left and nothing grabs people's attention like a leather mini skirt. But be sure you're not inviting the 'pay for services' kind of attention and pair with flats rather than super high heels – your legs will still look great. And once the cool weather arrives, a blouse, well fitted blazer, opaque tights, and heels would be a complementing ensemble.

T.R. Knight in Los Feliz, Estate of the Day

T.R. Knight, who played George on "Grey's Anatomy" seems to have left California behind. The Wall Street Journal reported that Knight is scheduled to appear in a David Mamet play on Broadway later this month and has relocated to New York. Meanwhile, this beautiful home that he bought in 2007 for around $2.9 million is up for sale. The home is a classic stunner, built by Leona P. Woods in 1930 and given a loving renovation by Knight and his team. The 4,000-square-foot-home is on around a third of an acre near Los Angeles' Griffith Park. The home's major feature is its lovely woodwork. The home's two-level great room has vaulted wooden ceilings and a minstrels gallery. The master bedroom has a domed corbel ceiling. The abundance of wood and peaked arch doorways does give the home a bit of a churchlike feel. It would be interesting to see what Knight would have done with the decor but this place is completely bare. He has listed the home for $3.995 million.

As the Real Estalker reminds us, Knight wasn't the only Grey's Anatomy cast member with a home in Los Feliz. Kate Walsh is still trying to sell the mansion she bought in 2007 for $4.75 million. That home is on the market for $4.295 million .Katherine Heigl has been trying to sell a three-bedroom home in the same area off and on for the past year or two. That home is currently off the market.

Breitling Chronospace Jet Team Watch

Breitling has issued a timepiece (perhaps one of many) to celebrate their sponsorship of the "Jet Team" (known now as the Breitling Jet Team." These crazy pilots do amazing things in the air including aerial acrobatics with their plans and flying in spectacular formations. Breitling is pretty proud to be a sponsor, and has released a 1000 piece limited edition version of their new for 2010 Chronospace watch. The Chronospace Jet Team has special branding on the dial including an image of a jet team jet (an L-39 Albatros), and the team's logo.

Aside from this dial imagery (and likely some new message on the caseback), the watch is the same interesting Chronospace model that is new for this year. I did a more comprehensive write up on the Breitling Chronospace watches here. In short, the new collection uses their Superquartz COSC Chronometer movements with a range of functions, and comes in a 48mm wide steel case and mesh steel bracelet. Not sure on price, but expect a premium over the non-limited Chronospace models.

Nicole Brundage Calf Wrap Ankle Pumps

Shoe shopping is an addicting habit. There are sandals for the summer, boots for the fall, heels for work and heels for a night out on the town. Each shoe can serve a particular purpose and match an appropriate occasion. If you find yourself buying too many shoes for a particular season or occasion, try searching for shoes that can carry you from one season to the next. It sounds like a no brainer, but it can be hard to resist all the gorgeous specialty shoes that seem to call our name whenever we walk buy a store display window, look through a magazine, or surf the web.

That's why we couldn't help but feature Nicole Brudage Ankle Pumps ($734). It's the perfect transitional and almost seasonless shoe. They completely work for the Summer given its cut out and vampy leather wrap around your ankle. And for the Fall, you could still wear a dress and skirt with tights or pair with straight and wide leg trousers. Brudage's Ankle Pumps are in a warm chestnut brown color which is versatile enough to compliment all of your outfits. Heel measurements: 4 inches.

Stallone Sports Ltd. Edition Panerai in 'The Expendables'

In the past we've written about the special limited edition watches created by Panerai to celebrate the annual Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge sailing contests. Now one of the nautical timepieces has turned up in a totally different setting: on Sylvester Stallone's wrist in the new shoot-'em-up action flick The Expendables (above). This isn't just another example of pricey product placement, however; Stallone is a longtime Panerai fan who's credited with introducing the brand to the U.S., and the watch, a limited edition Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 44 mm, is his personal wrist candy. The split-second chronograph is coated in Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) for durability while sailing or fighting bad guys, and only 500 numbered examples were produced.

Cook With The Greats At The New York Culinary Experience

Ever dreamed of cooking with some of the world's greatest chefs? The French Culinary Institute is holding its third annual New York Culinary Experience, a two-day culinary camp for foodies, on October 2 and 3. This year's participating chefs include Todd English, Johnny Iuzzini, Alain Ducasse, Morimoto, David Bouley, Laurent Tourondel, Jacques Torres and Anita Lo. People travel from all over the world to attend this event. The event raises money for the Future Chefs Scholarship Program, which makes it possible for aspiring chefs to attend The French Culinary Institute.

Imagine cooking strozzapreti with sausage and grapes and other dishes inspired by the Italian grape harvest alongside Andrew Carmellini, creating antipasti with Cesare Casella, glazing and slow roasting Long Island duck with Alex Guarnaschelli or braising and stewing beef with Michael Lomonaco. You can dip your toes into sous-vide cooking, preparing Australian ocean trout with Kalamansi and Nashi Pear with Shaun Hergatt. If you are a dessert lover you'll be thrilled to explore the use of brown butter in pastries, ice cream and chocolate with Michael Laiskonis and work with chocolate with Mr. Chocolate himself, Jacques Torres.

The weekend includes two classes with per day, breakfast, (educational/learning) lunch sessions, and a cocktail/wine reception to close each day. The cost for the entire weekend is $1,595 per ticket ($1,495 for purchases of two or more tickets).
