I've seen companies that laser inscribe your personal message on a diamond. Now a company called Gemory says they can put your favorite photo on a diamond. As the press release describes it: "the patent-pending PureDiamond™ process from Gemory uses nanotechnology to inscribe photos in high resolution on the surface of any diamond, pearl or other gem." They say the photo is "microscopic and invisible to the naked eye" but can be seen through the GemmaView™, Gemory's proprietary portable viewing device. 10/12/08
