Lamborghini joins other luxury vehicle brands including Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz in announcing a slowdown in production. Even though Lamborghini had a record sales year last year it will shut down its Sant'Agata production plant for two weeks in the coming months. The slowdown will affect a little less than one third of Lamborghini's work force. Like other brands, Lamborghini has said that the decision will protect jobs in the long run. The brand is predicting a reduction in demand for their high-powered and expensive vehicles and is taking a preemptive step to avoid a luxury car glut. 19/02/09
