Mary Rocca and Eric Grigsby of Rocca Family Vineyards (3 of 10)
Mary Rocca and Eric Grigsby are two medical professionals who also make great wine. Rocca Family Vineyards produces high quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the Yountville and Coombsville areas of Napa. Before becoming a vintner in 1999, Mary Rocca ran her own dental practice, while her husband Eric Grigsby is a Pain Management Specialist based in Napa and is also on the board of the Mayo Clinic.Together, Mary and Eric also run the Grigsby-Rocca foundation which supports end-of-life care in countries such as Malawi where nearly 20% of the population is suffering from AIDS. How do they balance all that and keep love alive after years of marriage and four children? They say: "As Vintners, we've found there's no aphrodisiac like red wine, and of course we think Rocca wine works the best!" The 2005 Rocca Syrah, Yountville, Napa Valley sells for $45. 04/02/09
